Roulette Lets You Build Comps Without Losing Your Bankroll

Gambling is part of growing up. We play marbles, flip cards and pitch pennies. As adults, we eventually walk into a casino for the first time and the face is the same as it was when we opened up that first bag of marbles or the first pack of cards. If you are smart, you will learn how to play roulette instead of taking the bait on the other games that are available.

Craps has a lot of excitement and can be very rewarding if the roller gets very lucky. Unfortunately, the game is set up to make it virtually impossible for someone to win. If you are only wagering on the line, you need a huge run to make a profit. If you are betting numbers, you need to hit 4 bets before you get your money back. Neither of these takes place very often on the craps table.

While blackjack is also very popular, you really do not have a very good chance at that either. Not only do you have to beat the house, but play can also be dramatically affected by someone else at the table. While this game may have the best odds, they do not take into account the idiotic play of others. This changes things significantly and is often the difference between winning and losing.

The last part of the casino that is left to hit up is the slots pit. You would be better off dropping your money at the front door and walking away instead of dying the slow death. They lure you in with the big progressives, but where do you think all of that money comes from? A lot of people lost a lot of money in order for that pot to get so big. And if you are on a cold machine, forget about it. Your money is gone before your seat gets warm.

This takes us to the one game where your money can last forever if you bet smart. You can cover over half the board with the minimum wager and unless you have a really bad run, you can sit there all day, build up comps and suck down free drinks. You are not going to break the casino this way, but you will enjoy yourself.

The way roulette is set up, you can place your bets to cover the bulk of the board and still take in a small profit. By doing more than the minimum bet, you can cover 30 numbers and only risk losing if the other 7 or 8 come out. That is truly stacking the odds. You will only get a $1 profit for each roll, but you are much more likely to win than lose. If you start to hit, you can knock that down to only covering 20 numbers with the same $5 and increase your payout.

If one of those numbers hits, you will be paid off with an $8 hit. Since you get your original bet back, you are pocketing a $3 profit. With the amount of numbers that you are covering, you will be able to play with minimum risk and maximize your time. Even if you lose, you will have enough hours in to get some decent comps.

The casino has a lot of places to take your money very quickly, but not many where you can stretch a couple hundred into hours of play. You do not need to win quick like you do at craps or blackjack and you are not closing your eyes and hoping for the best like you are at slots. With a little skill, you can make sure that you stay alive all day long, rack up comps and actually enjoy yourself instead of going home without a penny in your pocket.
