The Best Way To Rid The Different Parasites Found In Drinking Water
Water is known to be essential to life. It nourishes you. It feeds your body cells and brain, making sure that they function properly. They are also important for the completion of certain household chores.
They are the source of enjoyment for families and friends who want to take a plunge on a pool or a beach. However, water can also be dangerous, especially if there are parasites found in drinking water.
Do you know that there are a lot of parasites that can multiply and enter your body just by the water you drink deliberately or accidentally? Almost all of them can be deadly if you're not going to pay attention.
Giardia Lamblia
This is actually a protozoan parasite that can get into your body whenever you drink water infested with it. It would normally find a home in your intestines. When it goes through you, it would cause diarrhea, which would leave you dehydrated unless you're able to nourish yourself with plenty of water and increase your electrolytes in the body.
Worse, you may be able to spread it to others through your fecal matter. Giardia Lamblia can live for a long time, so there's a good chance that other people would catch it somehow.
Cryptosporidium
Cryptosporidium is also a parasite and is a single celled organism. It is not a virus or a bacterium. It is very small. In fact, red blood cells are much bigger than they are. Thus, it's easy for them to get into your body. However, the common mode of transmission is swallowing or drinking infested water.
This protozoan can cause gastroenteritis, a condition where your intestines and stomachs are inflamed. The incubation period can be between 2 to 7 days.
This means that you don't immediately feel the symptoms, which would include loss of appetite and abdominal pain. It would also cause diarrhea, which, if not treated immediately, can cause death due to dehydration.
Entamoeba Histolytica
This is a water-borne pathogen. So far, this has infected more than 50 million people all over the world. When these are given time to develop, they can cause liver abscess or amoebic dysentery. Common signs of the illnesses include abdominal pain, fatigue, and fulminating dysentery. You may also notice blood on your stool because the walls of your intestines are being destroyed, causing lesions.
Solution
Whilst municipal water authorities have done a decent job getting rid of parasites found in water, their purification methods doesn't 100% guarantee you from such contamination.
For example, in Milwaukee in 1993, cryptosporidium, parasite entered the water supply and killed more than 100 from related illnesses. Since then, there have other occasions of this type of contamination.
Your goal as a consumer is to give your family as much protection as possible from parasitical contamination. Now boiling water is an option, but would you really want the hassles of doing this on an ongoing basis?
The best way to give you family maximum coverage is to acquire a quality water filtration system, that can give you added protection 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
One such device that works exceptionally well is an activated-carbon filter with a sub-micron pore structure. This device filters from your tap water, a wide range of parasitical organisms and industrial chemicals. The result is super clean, healthy and tasty water for your family, friends and staff.
Do your health and those of the people you know a huge favor and invest in a quality water filter system today.
