Info Products: How to Expand Your First Products into Higher Ticket Items
Your first information products will be in response to a need or challenge you see among your site visitors or prospects in your area of expertise. They are often products at a lower price point - under $50 or even under $30, like a special report, ecourse, or ebook.
These initial products can be expanded on to create higher ticket products for autopilot income 24/7 from your site.
Let's say I was in the beaded jewelry niche. Perhaps my first information product was a special report, The Best Methods for Cleaning Bead Jewelry. Or perhaps I made some videos demonstrating some beading and design techniques.
At this point we'll assume I'm very familiar with what my prospects want in terms of more knowledge to help them in their own designs, and perhaps even selling their jewelry. What else could I offer them?
I could continue expanding on this subject with:
* What types of beads work well together? * What style of beaded necklaces work best with various color styles? * What shapes of beads can I use to elongate the appearance of the wearer's neck?
You don't need to make it too complicated or try to come up with a complete list at first. You can always expand and build on the initial chapters later. In fact, seven is a good number to begin with, as you want to avoid information overload.
I could hold a series of teleclasses on how to make beaded jewelry - one class per chapter. Record these teleclasses and I've can turn them into an audio course I could sell.
If you're not confident enough to conduct your own teleclasses, you can record yourself reading or talking about your topic, and then you've got an info product. This is really simple to do using a free program such as Audacity.
If you have the audio editing program, Audacity on your computer, you can do all your own recording for free to use for your info products. You could create one audio for each chapter of an ebook or ecourse, and then have an audio course to go along with it.
Taking it a step further, have your teleclass recordings transcribed, and the audios copied onto CDs, and then you've got more value with your audio. You can sell it as a package and offer various ways for people to learn, such as listening or reading.
This is an important point to consider when creating info products: People prefer to learn in different ways. Some people prefer to read and look at pictures, some prefer listening, while others prefer video demonstrations.
What type of info products have you created already? Take a look at where the 'holes' are in your product funnel to figure out what kind of product you should create next.
And of course, you can run live workshops where people learn hands on how to make the jewelry, using the manual that you've created from your transcriptions. These workshops can be filmed, adding the DVDs to the CDs and manual, and you then have a home study course.
To complete this whole lineup and create a high end jewelry making program package the home study course with private one-on-one sessions to assist your customer and a selection of beautiful beads.
There are many ways you can repurpose or repackage your existing expertise and begin making products which can set you on the road to earning multiple streams of income as well as extending your reach to a much wider audience, as long as you follow the logical sequence.
