Are Electronic Cigarettes Still Under Fire From The Government And Special Interest

By Kyle Newton

While I have never really been one to smoke cigarettes, most of my friends do. About half of them have already tried the new way of smoking in public. Restaurant managers look closely at our table and we have to explain that these are electronic cigarettes. None of us are smoking anything, but taking puffs off of a smoking alternative that delivers flavor and nicotine, but produces no smoke and has no tobacco.

Lighting up an electronic cigarette does not require a lighter or matches, you simply screw the battery on and take a drag. The tip glows red and you get a few micrograms of nicotine with each little puff you take. They even come in disposable varieties so you can try them out. When the flavor ends on the electronic cigarette, just put on a new cartridge.

When you exhale from this magic puff, you will get a little cloud of what appears to be smoke. All it is, is water vapor trailing into the air. It has no scent at all. A new kind of smoker is taking back public areas with this easy way to get around the ban and not bother anyone at all. What is better is that these are cheaper too!

Electronic cigarettes are not just for getting around silly smoking bans. They also have thousands fewer chemicals than tobacco cigarettes. If you do not want to give up smoking, but you are tired of breathing in tar or ammonia, give this a try. They even taste like cigarettes. If you do not like that, you can get them in menthol flavors or chocolate or even fruit flavor.

While the FDA and WHO see no evidence to back up that this technology is safer, it is evident that there are fewer chemicals. These chemicals missing are the same ones that are linked to cancer and health problems. You do the math.

The first electronic cigarettes were invented in Beijing, China. The first were sold in 2004. From there, their popularity has skyrocketed. First they converted Chinese smokers, then European smokers, and now they have made it to American soil and the converts could not be happier. I can smoke one in the library if I like. Kiosks selling these face to face cannot keep them on the shelves and are regularly sold out too! With all that to go on, I might go out and try one. They come in no nicotine varieties as well.
