Ovarian cysts are common in many women. In fact, many cases of ovarian cysts exist without the patient knowing about them. This is because, most often, ovarian cysts display little or no symptoms. As such, they remain undiagnosed. To make matters worse, some of the most common symptoms of ovarian cysts match those brought about by other common female ailments. It's no wonder that many cases of ovarian cysts are discovered accidentally during routine checks or during an Ultrasound test that might have been necessary for a completely different reason.

Ruptured ovarian cysts can pose a serious threat to the patient's life and under no circumstances, should they be left untreated. Ovarian cysts, in themselves, are most often benign in nature, and in many cases, they go away on their own without any specific medical or surgical intervention. However, when a cyst breaks, it calls for immediate medical attention. Ruptured ovarian cysts are no good news and can trigger off a host of complications and side-effects. Should you suspect a case of ovarian cysts rupturing, seek medical help without delay as timely intervention can prevent the situation from getting worse.

It is important, therefore, to have a full understanding and awareness of the signs and symptoms of ruptured ovarian cysts. Self-diagnosis is the key here. Knowing about the signs and symptoms of ruptured ovarian cysts can help you adopt corrective measures in right time, before it is too late. Early treatment can help save you the trouble of undergoing a surgery or resorting to more expensive medication or modes of treatment. Let's take a closer look at the various signals that might indicate a case of ruptured ovarian cysts.

Pain and discomfort: One of the most conspicuous symptoms of ruptured ovarian cysts is the pain associated with it, along with some degree of discomfort. Unfortunately, many women tend to brush aside this pain and discomfort as the usual symptoms of normal menstruation. Any abnormal pain or excessive feeling of discomfort in and around the time menstruation should be looked into. This is all the more critical for somebody who has already been diagnosed with ovarian cysts.

Highly irregular periods: If you notice a sudden irregularity in your periods, it could be a sign of ruptured ovarian cysts. One may also notice a sharp change in the volume of discharge and the periods can vary from being very light to extremely heavy. Erratic periods can also give rise to a host of other problems such as acne, weight gain, emotional disturbances, mood swings and more.

Vaginal bleeding: Any kind of bleeding that is not associated with normal menstrual discharge needs to be taken seriously. Sudden unexplained bleeding could well indicate ruptured ovarian cysts. If abnormal bleeding is noticed in somebody with a known case of ovarian cysts, it should be investigated into without delay.

Frequent urination: Ovarian cysts, upon breaking, can cause an unusual pressure to be applied on the urinary bladder. This results in the increase of the frequency of urination in the patient. To make matters worse, even though a strong urge to urinate is felt, most women find it difficult to actually relieve themselves. One should also watch out for any pain and discomfort during urination as it may indicate a case of ruptured ovarian cysts.

Pain in the pelvic region: The presence of ovarian cysts, very often, causes varying degrees of pain in the pelvic region of many women. When a cyst ruptures, the pain gets even worse. In some very serious cases, the pain can impose severe limitations to normal day-to-day activities.

Physical and other changes: Ruptured ovarian cysts can bring about certain unexplained physical changes, such as tenderness in the breasts, changes in the body structure or fluctuations in body weight. Some women also experience a feeling of nausea and lower abdominal heaviness, along with other symptoms that are usually associated with pregnancy.

Do not treat the symptoms of ovarian cyst. Instead, treat the factors that cause the cyst. But many people end up making this mistake of treating the symptom and this is why the symptom comes back. Turn to holistic remedies because this treats the body as a whole and finds out all the contributing factors and then treats them. As a result, the relief is permanent and the cyst never returns.
