Challenge Yourself, Try Sphereing
I have always been into extreme sports, bungee jumping, rock climbing, and paragliding. You name it and I have done it. I love the adrenaline that comes with these sorts of activities, it beats wasting a weekend down the pub any day. It also keeps me healthy; there are so many benefits of trying these adventurous activities. I must admit that recently I have been slightly bored of doing the same activities again and again; I wanted to push myself even more and find something new to try.
That's when my friend introduced me to sphereing, a relatively new sport that started originally in New Zealand. I wasn't sure what I thought of it at first, the concept is that you are strapped into a giant sphere made of transparent plastic and then rolled down a hill! I thought that it would be a hideous sensation, but nevertheless wanted to get my adrenaline fix and teeth into a new challenge. The first time I did it was with a friend; we were both strapped into the sphere and let off down the hill. I was surprised at what an incredible feeling it was, if not a little short.
Next time I am going I plan on trying aqua sphereing, which is the same experience except the sphere will be filled with water should be interesting. I love the free feeling I get with sphereing, it really is a shame that it happens all so fast. There are many variants on how to do this sport too, you can roll down the hill without a harness, with a friend, in a sphere that isn't transparent and one filled with water! They all sound pretty exciting to me, cannot wait until I go aqua-sphereing.
So if you think that like me, sphereing would be your cup of tea then simply look on the internet. There are many options available from, from great gift ideas such as experience days through to companies that organise sphere activities. Obviously it is important to ensure that the company you decide to go with is registered and an official company. The sport is still dangerous and there are people that are able to purchase the globes without any licenses. Make sure that the company you go through is thorough with safety and looks like they know what they are doing! But most of all make sure that you enjoy your experience and relax, that is the best way to get the most out of it.
