Business Traveller - Why Should You Upgrade?

By Julian Allen
Sep 21, 2009
Business traveller is a term that has been coined by the airline industry to describe a new type of customer. One who flies frequently and collects many air miles over the course of the year, a person who never settles for anything but the best on a flight, or as it is commonly known - business class.

As we all know there are three different sections to an airplane - economy, business and first class. Each section is better than the one before, and although first class is the realm of celebrities and company directors. Then there is business class, here there is plenty of space and tranquillity away from the throng of economy.

What is being a business traveller all about though? It's about having every one of your whims catered for. Is your soup too cold? They'll send you a new one! Is it too hot? They'll blow on it for you, yes being a business traveller is a tough life but frankly someone has to do it!

Some of the advantages of the business traveller lifestyle include prompter services - yes that's right no more outrageous waits to get too those tasty peanuts! On top of that they receive larger chairs; you can actually stretch your legs out and get both arm rests! And whats more is that they get a larger selection of movies, games and even internet access.

Being a business traveller is in many ways comparable to being wealthy during the middle ages; you simply get the best of everything brought directly to you, and you can lord it over the rabble. Of course this all comes at a price.

The price is in fact often so steep that many people cannot afford to buy business class, but there's no reason to worry because there is a saying in travel 'if you were meant to be a business traveller you shall become a business traveller' those are the words muttered before you are promoted to business traveller status yourself.

Yes this actually does happen, usually when flights don't fill up the airlines are more than happy to pick one miserable customer to make their day, week - and perhaps even life?

You could be one of these lucky folks or you could be your own kind, namely the kind who travels on the company bill. One who has all their desires catered to by the staff and paid for by the company - ahhh, the life of a business traveller.
