Change Your Thinking, Change Your Income

By William Gold

In sales, one way to separate the professionals from the amateurs is to determine their attitudes towards sales. You see, amateurs think mostly in terms of new sales while professionals and old-timers understand that existing sales are just as important -- at least, if not actually much more so. Sure, new sales are vitally important, but existing sales from existing customers (which is to say, proven customers) can just about make or break a business!

Proven customers are usually repeat customers, which is to say that they tend to be reliable customers, people you can count on to contribute to your bottom line periodically. Secure enough of them and your success becomes only a matter of time! Unless your market is oversaturated, new customers should be relatively easy to entice; it's getting them to buy again, and again, and again, and forevermore, that's so difficult. Yes, it's not easy convincing people to part with their hard-earned dollars, but unless your product or service sells itself it's quite often much harder to get today's fickle customers to come back for more of the same. With everyone and their cousin offering discounts every week -- if not every day -- it can be hard to convince your customers to stick with you!

Yes, making that first sale, gaining that initial trust, is extremely hard. But keeping a customer satisfied can be harder! It's like what they say about losing weight: losing it is easy; keeping it off is what's really hard. So, aside from discount deals giving away the store, you have to do everything you can to keep your customers your customers, and not drift off elsewhere.

One way to do this is very simple, and actually quite common. It's so common that people commonly overlook it! Yet many businesses, particular new start-ups, begrudge the small expenses involved. Of course, nickels and dimes add up, but if they help you attract new customers and keep old ones, it's not an expense; it's a tool of the trade. And in our world of 21st Century e-commerce, no business should be doing business without offering their customers the convenience of Credit Card Processing Services.

It's unfortunate how many merchants fail to appreciate what they can do for their customers, often quite simple things that go a long way towards easing the shopping experience for browsers and buyers alike. Accepting credit card payments is just another simple gesture that's appreciated greatly by today's busy on-the-go people. Indeed, it's probably even widely expected! So do yourself and your customers a favor by opening a Wireless Merchant Account for card processing payments and see your sales pick up almost instantly.
