Imagination Intermingled with Technology

There are days when I think living on an island would be quite the adventure although very limiting. It would sure give you more of an appreciation for many things. One thing that would be a necessity while living out on an island is some type of access to the Internet. You have to have some type of link to civilization. How in the world would you get a strong, fast connection out in the middle of nowhere? Welcome to the age where we have access to high-speed satellite Internet.

The other night I was watching this absolutely adorable movie called Nim's Island. Just to give you a brief summary of the movie, Nim, an 11-year-old girl, and her father live out on an island far away from any kind of civilization. Her father is a scientist who sets out to sea one day to find this certain type of protozoa. They keep in touch via satellite phone. Even set out on a secluded island, you can have all the comforts of living in a home in the city or suburbs.

The father gets stranded in the middle of the ocean after a major storm hits and Nim is left to fend for herself. She gets in contact with the author of her absolute favorite hero and book character, Alex Rover. Despite the odds, everything turns out fine and through more storms and crazy weather, the satellite Internet survives the rain and wind and provides for a quick connection for Nim to stay in contact with people.

Now although this movie is fictitious, the Internet via satellite is not. With signals coming from space, power outages would rarely cause any connection failure. If the weather were extremely bad, it may cause the connection to slow down, but that is rare as well. The satellite is built to handle rugged conditions in order to give reliability to the consumer.

Many people are moving away from the cable and dial-up connections to the Internet and reigning in the satellite Internet connection. I mean who wouldn't want to when you know you would have a dependable connection, one that is very fast, flexible and affordable? Those are some enticing words to the consumer when it comes to the Internet. We're always looking for that better upgrade or latest and greatest fast connection. Give satellite Internet a shot. Rumor has it, you won't be disappointed.
