Stock Up On Children's Party Supplies For A Memorable Party

Getting the right children's party supplies for your son or daughter's party can be tricky. Children can get very overexcited at parties very easily and there may be hyperactivity, tears, tantrums and arguments, which are all part of the fun!

Try and plan for every second of the party. Adults can happily sit by themselves without entertainment for hours, but for children the threshold is usually little more than a minute. This means you need to have a loose plan of activities to engage them, along with some children's party supplies.

The good news is, children are usually willing to give anything a go, so you could devise some games yourself to play if you're feeling creative, or perhaps take a traditional game and tweak the rules a bit.

If you've got the budget, a bouncy castle is a guaranteed hit for any party, and takes care of most of the entertainment for you. Just make sure there's always an adult around in case anyone bounces off and bumps themselves (there's bound to be one).

You'll need to make a music playlist for when everyone is eating, and for games like musical bumps. Think pop all the way - chart music will be a hit with older kids, and younger ones and toddlers will recognise TV theme tunes of their favourite shows which you can download from the internet and burn onto CD.

Older children (nine and upwards) will enjoy a DJ, so if you have the budget, hire one. It will take care of the entertainment for you and leave you free to relax and enjoy the party.

When you send out the party invitations, ask parents to specify whether their child has any food allergies. It's probably best to avoid putting out foods which commonly cause a severe reaction, such as nuts, just in case anyone picks one up who shouldn't. Also bear in mind that some children can become very hyperactive after consuming certain drinks; sugary caffeine-filled ones such as coke are usually the main culprits.

You may wish to feed your little one purely organic, healthy and wholesome food, but it's probably best to forget this idea just for one day. Many children are fussy eaters and you will be better off providing popular favourites like pizza slices, hotdogs, chips and crisps. Have sticks of raw carrot, cucumber and celery too for those that may like a healthy snack.

Don't forget all the usual children's party supplies; balloons, hats and even party poppers for older kids, and the day should go off with a bang!
