Detroit Tigers Playoff Tickets - Possible Postseason Matchups
With the way things are looking right now, the Tigers will wind up in the postseason. They've got a strong lead on the rest of the American League Central, and unless they blow it big time, they'll likely earn a spot in the postseason and begin playing for a world title. But who are they Tigers likely to play when they're in the playoffs? What would their matchups look like? Who are they hoping to play, based on their performance this year? Are there any National League teams that the Tigers are anxious to go up against in a possible World Series? Whoa. Maybe we're getting too far ahead of ourselves. Let's remember to knock on wood after reading this article. Let's also remember that Tigers home playoff games are likely to sell out. You should check out the available Detroit Tigers playoff tickets online when the postseason comes, because StubHub can get you into the game even when it's sold out.
Division Series - Right now the Tigers are staring down a probable division series with the New York Yankees. The Tigers are well below the Angels and the Yankees in terms of overall record, and yet they're a safe five games up (as of September 12) from their nearest division competitor in the AL Central. So, if the Tigers can't catch the Boston Red Sox in the last few weeks of play, they're going to join the playoffs as the No. 4 seed. The Yankees will likely grab the No. 1 seed, as they're way out in front of the entire league right now. So we're looking at a Tigers-Yankees first round series. Tigers fans will not like this one bit. In the six games that the Tigers and Yankees have played this season, the Tigers only won one game, and they trail in the series matchup run tally by a margin of 30-15. So things have been a little lopsided. The Tigers would much rather play the Angels or even possibly the Texas Rangers in the first round.
Championship Series - The Tigers will likely face either Boston or Los Angeles in the championship series. Tigers fans ought to root for a series with the Angels. Boston beat Detroit six games to one this regular season, and the run margin was 42-23. Not a good sign. Things were a lot closer when they played the Angels. The Tigers played the Angels nine times this season, and they ended up winning five of the games, and the run tally is close. The Tigers scored 49 runs, whereas the Angels scored 47.
World Series - The Tigers did not get much practice against the NL's best teams, and when they did face them, they got beat. The Tigers lost their three-game series with the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1, and they lost their three-game series with the Rockies 2-1 as well. They did not play the Dodgers or the Phillies.
So there you have it, the most interesting matchups that you might see in a possible Detroit Tigers playoff run. It's going to be a great time out at the ballpark when October rolls around and the games start getting intense. So make sure you have tickets to be there for all the excitement.
