Choosing A Shampoo

Aug 18, 2007
It's very easy to get tricked by advertisements. Not only do they make copywriting work, they also make great use of resources such as camera and other digital tricks. As probably what your mother always says, don't be fooled by false advertisements. After all, what are advertisements for but to make big sales? So now it's about time that you take in the following information to know just how to get it right when choosing a shampoo.

1. What is a shampoo basically for? A shampoo has been formulated to clean your hair. Thus, when you purchase a bottle of shampoo, think only of its cleansing abilities and nothing else. Other jobs are those of the conditioner so check out the shampoo's ingredients. It should contain enough to cleanse off those dusts and dirt.

2. What about natural or organic shampoo? The truth is this is actually relative. In today's technology, no manufacturer offers a product that hasn't used any additive mainly the detergent ones. Plus, the thing about fruit extracts and herb's cleansing properties is still arguable since not all of them are that effective. They may be natural and useful but are really forgettable as a cleansing ingredient in shampoos.

3. Shampoo can't do anything more than clean your hair. If you may not know, hair from your scalp down to your shoulders or waist is dead. Thus, advertisements of shampoo saying it can make hair stronger, helps restore or alter its texture and provide nourishment to weak hair are all wrong. Shampoos may contain ingredients for restoration and nourishment but it will only stay on the hair surface for a short period.

4. Don't be tricked by a shampoo's pearl coloring look. It really won't do anything to your hair. Additives are added to the shampoo to attain that effect and not as conditioners to make hair have that pearl-colored appearance.

5. Less is more. It doesn't matter how much shampoo you use or how thick the foam is when it comes to cleansing your hair. As long as the shampoo has detergents, it should cleanse your hair. 6. Use a shampoo that suits you. If you've already found the shampoo that works for you, stick to it. While it's perfectly okay to experiment with other shampoos on your hair, it is best not to do so as you will be suffering from damaged hair should the shampoo not be fit for your hair type.
