Security Drawer Safes

Why do you need a drawer safe? Well, have you considered what would happen if your home was burgled by heartless thieves who took items which were not only financially valuable but also of great sentimental value as well? That is what happened to me last year and I wish someone had of told me to make a small investment in a drawer safe beforehand as I could have saved myself and family a lot of misery and heartache.

By having a drawer safe in my home I could have prevented the theft of these items as drawer safes are hidden safes which means that the thief will not know where the safe is and even if they do manage to locate it, they will be unable to open the safe which means the contents remain safe and secure.

The most popular drawer safes have been specifically adapted to safeguard valuables such as jewelry, cash, ID cards, passports and handguns. They are manufactured for the home market by companies who are experts in designing and installing secure, private safes and hidden compartments. As most people want to keep their jewelry in them, these safes are commonly known as a jewelry drawer safe.

I decided to do my homework before I purchased a drawer safe for my home as there are a large number to choose from which can be confusing. You may find the easy opening safes are perfect for your requirements. This type of drawer safe does, as the name would suggest, open at the flick of a switch, which is of course well concealed as is the safe itself. In fact it is possible to keep the location of this safe a secret from other family members who could walk past it every day without knowing it is there! This will appeal to people who don't want to have to worry about keeping safe keys secure or remembering combination numbers.

Many drawer safes are fire-resistant and operate on a 12 volt system that mean they work even if your electricity is out! Many types of switches can be used to open drawer safes but we won't get into that on the Internet.

It is worth bearing in mind that drawer safes can be used to safeguard more than just your financially valuable items from theft. They are becoming very popular with parents who want to store family medicines in a safe place where their children cannot gain access. By storing medicines in a drawer safe, parents can be sure their children do not tamper with them or cause themselves harm by taking unsupervised medication.

As drawer safes are small, compact and unobtrusive many hotel chains have decided to replace conventional cupboard safes with a drawer safe. Not only does this create more space in the main closet or cupboard, but has the added advantage of holding a variety of laptop sizes. With rising real estate costs this adds value which offsets the initial cost of purchasing the drawer safe and most newly built hotels will most probably have a drawer safe as standard.
