Build Your Client Base With Your Email Marketing Strategy

It is not a groundbreaking to statement to suggest that the Internet has revolutionized the way businesses operate. One area where this is particularly true is through the use of a dynamic email marketing strategy.

The benefits to such a strategy are, in very real terms unlimited. As discussed later on this article, the results can be monitored far more readily than any marketing concept before it.

It can also go a long way to promoting customer retention, and is one of the leading ways to build strong and productive relationships with stakeholders and like-minded business professionals.

However, for responsible email marketing strategy, and to keep the right side of many privacy laws, it is essential that your contact lists have been ethically sourced. Known as permission based email marketing, it goes a long way to ensuring your correspondence will be read and increase the chance of driving traffic to your site.

It is not difficult to gain such information however; subscription forms, booking forms and competitions being just a few. However, whichever you use, it is paramount that explanations are given as to what you intend to use the gathered data for.

But always bear in mind that many people; particularly the consumer, may not want you to contact them. Do not insist on their email addresses, and always and unsubscription services easily and clearly marked.

It is perfectly possible to take the design and content of your email marketing strategy in-house. However, many companies find it easier and slicker to use the services of third party professionals; most notably to provide an editable template. Whichever your decision though, remember to include the basics; logo, colors, etc.

Understanding what your contact base wants should control your decision as to how often mailings are sent. Many find it successful to ask customers, (and again, mailings can be tailored to suit this need), though four weekly postings are the generally accepted standard.

Emailing tools, as mentioned above, allow you to monitor both readership and unsubscriptions, which allows for targeting to be improved.

This easy analysis not only allows for better reporting, but will also help you target your next email marketing strategy more appropriately to really drive forward and maximize the needs of your stakeholders.
