Does Your Establishment Qualify as Restaurant Elite?
What sets your location apart, gives it a special buzz, makes people talk about it, prompt their friends to attend and generally establishes it as one of the restaurant elite? This is a question that every entrepreneur in this position should ask him or herself, as it is a position that each location should aspire to.
Even though we need to eat to survive, as human beings we have taken it further than that and create a social occasion every time that we consume. We don't look at it as just a task and as such, the food industry has evolved to take into account our needs in this way. While all we really need are the proper utensils, a table, chair and of course the food, we are looking for the total experience and the restaurant owner must make it first class.
To be able to qualify for the list of restaurant elite, a business must be able to offer its diners a totally seamless experience. This experience starts before the visitor actually leaves home to travel to the restaurant, as reputation must precede and will take a lot of time and dedication to establish.
Primarily, for the client to really remember the experience at your establishment, you have to get everything right. A lot of this will stem from your pre-opening. The ambience and the decor must be conducive to the presented style and you must pay total attention to detail in every respect to be considered restaurant elite.
Isn't it true that you do not have total control over all the elements needed to rank your business as restaurant elite? Many believe this to be the case, although it is also true to say that if you do an adequate amount of preparation and planning then most things will fall into place. One example of an intangible element -- to enable your dining party to have the optimum experience there will need to be an "appropriate" number of other diners contributing to the ambience.
As a restaurateur, you should spend considerable time honing the customer service experience. While the food quality and presentation is highly important, the manner in which it is delivered and the attention given need plenty of focus. It goes without saying that the service staff should be top notch and know all about the menu, but they must be willing to be attentive in just the right amount, not too much and not too little.
For the restaurant elite, timing is everything. This goes for the attention of the waitstaff and the delivery of the food. This is a finite plan that has to be practiced. All members of your staff must be fully aware of it from the top to the bottom. If one part of the chain breaks, the entire experience could be ruined.
Above all, to reach the ranks of restaurant elite, the entire team within the building must evoke passion. Whatever the theme and style, it is up to the restaurateur to ensure that all staff are passionate about what they do and are committed to delivering over and above to ensure that your clients go away content with the full intention of returning and telling all their friends as well.
