WWE Tickets - Where Are They Now: Haku
The WWE has had its share of "monsters" over the years, but few have played the part as intensely as the fearless Tonga warrior, Haku. Get WWE tickets and see your favorite wrestler in the ring. This wrestler began terrorizing his opponents north of the boarder in Montreal and made a name for himself after multiple WrestleMania appearances. Haku earned his reputation as one of wrestling's toughest competitors. Upon his entry to the WWE, Haku established himself as a highly skilled tag team expert. He was part of the "Heenan Family," where Haku got the chance to wrestle alongside fellow islander Tama before moving on to capture the World Tag Team Championship as a member of the Colossal Connection with his partner, the legendary Andre the Giant.
Haku has stated that his relationship with the "Heenan Family" felt like a real family out off the ring. The wrestler reflected on those days with great fondness. He remembered traveling together and taking care of each other like it was a brotherhood. In the mid '90s, the wrestler moved south to enjoy a lengthy run as "Meng" in the WCW. During this time, Haku dominated at singles competition while competing with some of the best wrestler's in the company. By 2001, the WWE superstar made a shocking return to the ring in the Royal Rumble. Not long after, the big man hung up his boots and retired from the sports-entertainment world. So what has the former WWE star been up too since leaving the ring?
Today "Tonga," as he is known to his co-workers and friends, manages the detail shop at David Maus Toyota in his hometown of Kissimmee, Florida. When he's not patrolling the lot, he can be found swinging his clubs on the green. Although the former wrestler did not say if he holds his golf clubs with the patented "Tonga Death Grip," he admitted his game was a work in progress. The golfer stated that he plays all the time, but has not mastered the sport yet. Aside from his battles with his putter, Haku still finds time to make rare appearances inside the ring for local independent wrestling companies. The one-time wrestler acknowledged that the sport has always been in his blood.
He said when he attends these shows; he sees some of the guys that he use to work with. It's a cool feeling since Haku likes being back with the boys. The former grappler recognizes that he couldn't have succeeded in the WWE without the support from his loyal fans. He has a special message he wants to share with the people who supported him throughout his career, and a message regarding the future of sports-entertainment. Haku thanks all his fans for their loving support over the years and reminds everyone to tune into the WWE every week to support their favorite stars. The big man added that the next generation of WWE superstars "are ready to carry the ball." The man who entertained so many in the ring for such a long time will be truly missed and never forgotten.
