How I Met Your Mother is an American sitcom that which first season premiered on CBS on the 19th of September, 2005. And the show was a great success. Created by the producer and executive producer Craig Thomas and Carter Bays. As a general outline of the How I Met Your Mother the main character, Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), in the year 2030 recalls memories of the events that led to his meeting their mother to his son and daughter, which explains the title of the show and lets the narrator (Bob Sagat) speak in past tense.
The show's supporting cast of five people meet together during nights at a bar called McClarren's. Here where most of the show takes place. Sitting at a booth with drinks busting on each other, laughing and having a good time. Ted the main character looks to meet his future spouse throughout the show with his trusty wingman Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris)
The show is like a modern day college graduate with a decent career, who are independent and enjoy the comforts of friends. The show is worth watching because it's very fluid and is an entertaining and funny sitcom. Very good portrayal of someone out of college in the real world trying to enjoying whats left of their late twenties. Ted being an architect; Barney a corporate banker; Lily a kindergarten teacher; Marshall a soon to be lawyer; and Robin a news reporter.
The show takes place in a bar McClarrens' with five of the supporting cast including Ted. What's awesome is that Ted and Marshall live above a bar called McClarrens'. This is the bar that the rest of the group normally meet together for a few drinks. Where they talk about each others fictional, but yet very interesting lives. They all have rather different careers and talk about the events that happen throughout their busy days.
The show and how it progress with the group meeting is rather fluid and harmonious and tends to fit well with the theme of the show. Ted meets his best friend in college, Marshall; who became his smoking buddy; who would of figured? Then in turn met Lily which is Marshall girlfriend/wife. However Robin meets Ted at the very same bar McClarrens' and takes it a little to fast and lets Robin know that he's in love with her on the very first date they meet. And he feels she is the one to marry and in turn Robin like any women who finds a guy overly infatuated gets turned off and has to reconsider this relationship, but later find out she isn't the mother of Ted's kids.
How I Met Your Mother is about five modern day friends, who live and work in New York and have good times together at the local bar McClarrens'. Where they discuss about life and how there jobs are going. But most importantly the show really emphasizes how friendship and unity play a big role in a person's development. You'll also get to see Ted hook up with chicks that his wing-man Barney's pairs him up with.
Barney's personality on the show really gives the show an added kick. His outspoken thoughts and witty attitude amps the show up in the right direction instead of it being a soppy ol' romantic comedy. He tries to keep Ted a single bachelor like himself, as Ted looks to get married and while Barney tries to convince Ted not to get married as he feels its not the right thing to do. However his other friends Marshall and Lily who are about to get married thing the opposite of Barney. Throughout the show you'll be trying to figure out who Ted is going to marry.
Barney outspoken thoughts and character gives How I Met Your Mother an extra kick. Barney being a playboy that he is gets Ted to be his wing-man like every episode so he could hook up with the beautiful women of New York City. Barney Stinson makes the show very interesting because he manages to get the group to be extremely adventurous and which the gang would otherwise not advice to do without a little nudge from their diabolical friend Barney. But since they hang out with Barney; the gang in turn becomes open to do such things as go to strip-clubs and other wild and crazy things that turn out to make the show an enjoyable one.
