Are you looking for the best way to make use of you r talent, your passion and your personal convictions as they relate with your career? Maybe you sometimes feel that you are an impostor in your current position because your entire being is not involved in performing the service for which you have been assigned. So how do you create the balance between what you are best at, most passionate about and also feel the most personal satisfaction from being involved in? If you are ready to awaken the genius within you and create balance between your life and your career then here is how mind mapping can provide the tool for making it happen.

To begin the process of mind mapping, you draw a pictorial diagram which connects ideas, actions and thoughts as they relate to one central theme. In this case, the theme is your career and there are three areas which you need to connect to the central theme: Passion, talent and personal values or goals. It is not important to understand how they relate just yet, the idea is to get all of them out on paper and have a look at them before any connections are attempted. This may cause some to arise naturally which is one of the great advantages of mind mapping. Come up with as many ideas related to your passion, talent and your goals as you are able to.

Once this is done, you can begin to draw the connections between our passions and your talents, find as many as you can before you move to connecting this list with your personal goals. The most important thing to realize while doing this is that you do not have to identify a career path in doing so. Instead, view this more of the practice of overcoming the things which have been blocking your thought process and repressing the ideas which could help you to come up with the solution. In mind mapping, the process is actually just as important as the end result.

Once this is done, you add the secret ingredient of turning a passion into a career: Contribution. In order to receive adequate compensation for what you want to do you must be willing to make a valuable contribution to either a customer base of an employer. If not, there is not a chance of ever being compensated for what you do. The key to effective contribution is human need, and if you can connect your personal passions values and talents with a human need you can develop a career path which will empower you to achieve all of them and to help others in the process.

Following this simple process may take some time and some practice, it is also something which you can use as a leader to better promote and lead the members of a team. The reason why this process is so effective is because it takes every area of a person's life into account and ensures that you can align them to a central purpose. Too many people struggle with the issue of balance as an attempt to tie together two separate lives which they are trying to live, their personal life and their career. Reconciling of these two will ensure that balance will never again be an issue for you or anyone who follows these simple steps.
