Children Charities of America (CCA) is an association of children charities across the United States, offering help and support for any charity geared toward fundraising money for and improving the lives of children. Their mission is to represent the charities within its umbrella and help maintain a strong, reliable public profile and assist in the running and maintenance of the charities. They are a recognized and respected organization, by joining which a charity without a high public profile can experience endless benefits.

These include help with marketing, branding and reaching people who can donate to charities. There is also a share in "undesignated" funds and gifts given to the CCA, as well as various methods of online assistance for the day-to-day running of any membership charity.

The Children Charities of America is open to any children charity that helps and raises money for children in 15 or more states or one of more foreign countries. Any charity wishing to join the association must submit their recent IRS Form 990, audit, annual report or four past quarterly newsletters. The application is then reviewed, and if the applying charity meets with the standards of the CCA, they are granted admission.

Member charities range from those based in and helping children from the United States, to far-reaching organizations providing help in foreign countries. One such member helping foreign charities is International Child Care USA, Inc, which brings healthcare to impoverished children and their families in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. It provides education, clean water, vaccinations, disability rehabilitation and medical assistance for all those in need.

A little closer to home is another member charity, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). BBBSA serves of 5,000 communities across America by providing one-to-one mentoring for troubled children, which has had an overwhelming success rate. Studies have shown that any child participating in a BBBSA mentoring program is now classified as 46% with less likelihood to start using illegal drugs, 27% less likely to begin using alcohol and 52% less likely to skip school. With results like these, the word of BBBSA and it is parent support group, the Children's Charities of America, is gradually getting through.

The Children's Charities of America helps smaller organizations establish a presence and raise awareness. No charity is excluded; the association is designed simply for those charities who wish to improve the lives of children. As well as the two aforementioned examples, charities who are members of the Children's Charities of America cover a wide range of subjects, ranging from help with specific medical problems for children to children who may need emotional support following a traumatic incident.

Therefore, the Children Charities of America does important work. When a charity wishes to become a member, they are pre-screened and fully checked, meaning that if a charity is associated with the Children Charities of America, they are the genuine article. With fake charities costing genuine charities millions of dollars a year, even on this aspect alone the essential work of the Children Charities of America is clear for all to see.
