Are you tired of hiding your body by wearing clothes that end up unflattering and do the exact opposite of what you hoped for? Do you want to look sexy but is a little hesitant because you might be 'too fat'? Don't cover your body up with baggy clothes and instead embrace your curves. Here are a few rules and tips that might help you accent your best features and end up looking 10 pounds lighter.

Choose Your Clothes

If you want to look lighter then you have to remember that you just can't shop indiscriminately. You have to be more cautious and really take the time out to consider if an article of clothing is flattering on you or not.

The first basic rule is to build your wardrobe and make darker colors the basis like navy, black and charcoal gray. Darker colors give you a smoother silhouette and are more forgiving when it comes to concealing certain parts that you might want to hide. If you are going to buy a piece of clothing that you are going to use a lot like a jacket, a blazer or slacks, then choose one with dark colors.

Use undergarments that give you the support that your body needs as well contours and shapes your body. Undergarment foundations like all-in-one shapers to pantyhose could help you keep those curves under control. Focus more on playing up your best features so if you have great legs, then show those off with a knee -length skirt.

Avoid fabrics that do not cling as they do not give you the smooth silhouette that you want. At the same time, keep away from clothes that are too tight or too clingy. You wouldn't want to look like an overstuffed turkey now, would you? Scale your accessories like earrings, bags and hats, to your size, making sure that they do not look too big or too small for you.

Create a clean silhouette by sticking to clean-lined clothing without too much embellishments like big buttons or big bows. Create strong vertical lines so you look taller and slimmer. You can do this by opting for a monochromatic outfit and avoiding anything, like a big belt, which can cut you in half visually. Also leave your jackets and cardigans unbuttoned for they might also visually cut you in half. When choosing pantyhose hues, make sure that it matches the color of your skirt and the color of your shoes as it creates the illusion of having longer legs.

If you are a little worried about your arms but still want to wear sleeveless clothes, then you can do that by wearing a shawl, or a sheer top or a bolero jacket. You still achieve a sexy look but keep the areas that you want to hide hidden.

Finally, if you want less attention on your body then draw it to your face. Wear earrings or scarves for they direct attention and frame your face. Don't think that hiding your body in baggy clothes will make you look better, in fact clingy, body-conscious clothes hinting at your curves that will suit you best.
