Tips and Techniques on How to Deal With Hyperactive Children
Children, who are hyperactive, are most of the time impatient and get distracted very easily. They are likely difficult to pay attention to task, like to run around and do not sit in one place. These hyperactive children are sometimes hard to control and stop from doing things that may lead to some troubles.
Hyperactive children are mostly diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactive disorder or ADHD. In order to help you on how to deal with hyperactive children, you may consider the following suggestions:
Green leafy vegetables and fruits are great food for children especially those with ADHD. This will help them become more alert and attentive. According to various researches, excessive taking of sweet and salty foods and drinks can boost children hyperactivity.
2. It is also important to know the side effects of red dye #40. This can also increase the hyperactivity of the children especially those with ADHD. Candies, cereals, crackers, and powdered drink mixes are examples of the products that may contain red eye #40. Make sure to read the product labels to see if they contain the ingredient.
Choosing the rewards in exchange of the tasks assigned for these children can be more exciting for them and motivate them to do the tasks assigned to them. This is a very effective method in dealing with hyperactive children.
4. Hyperactive children need more support than normal children. As long as it will not cause trouble to some people, support them at all times in everything they do. Showing love and affection will help improve their behavior. Dealing with hyperactive children is easier when you follow this method.
5. When the children starts to scream and cry out loud, try to be strong and calm. Talk to the children in a nice way, and ask them not to scream or cry and tell you their problems to solve it immediately. If you tell them something that can threaten them, it may just aggravate the situation. See to it that what you tell them is short and simple as they can only listen to you shortly. Go directly to what you want them to understand. In order to have a good response from them, show them that you are firm but remain calm.
6. Let children explore and meet their maximum potential. Never compare the children with others. This will only cause embarrassment and affect their self esteems.
Impose some rules and regulations in order to discipline the children. These rules must be clear and easy to understand and follow. Provide penalties to those children who disobey the rules. Example of penalties can be rewards that will not be receive or dessert that cannot be eaten. Explain the rules to the children clearly so everything will be effective right away.
If children see what you do, they may want to imitate you especially if they see some positive results of what you did. Become a role model to them and show them good deeds that you want them to also do.
