What is the Best Portable Karaoke Machine

Shopping for a portable Karaoke machine can be a fun experience. With a little research prior to setting off to purchase your machine, you will find that you know enough to buy that absolutely correct one to fit your needs. Prior to going, you should consider these things:

1. Features

Even low-end karaoke machines come with many features. As for these features, some you won?t use and others you want to have. As for the features you want, look for microphone inputs with an adjustable gain; the unit should also have onboard effects, like reverb. A reverb can help improve the sound of any singer by adding a small amount of echo to each song.

The type of microphone output is another feature to look for. Low end-machines, including some portable karaoke machines, have nothing more than ? inch inputs. If you want to upgrade to a better microphone later, this input can limit your choices.

Higher-end karaoke machines offer a type of input that is known as an XLR input. Due to a better signal path created by these inputs, you get better singing results regardless of the microphone used. If you like the microphones bands use or intend to upgrade, it is best to opt for a karaoke unit with XLR inputs. These inputs come with three holes for three pins and are as small as a dime. As for a lower-end ? inch input, it looks just like a headphone jack.

2. Flexibility

Flexibility is important to consider because it determines how well the machine can adapt to new television technology, different types of music files, and different places. The portable karaoke unit you choose should be able to be hooked up to any type of TV, including today?s modern, digital televisions. On that same note, even newer TVs can play video from a yellow colored RCA input. It is also important that the machine can hookup to multiple televisions at once. All karaoke machines, including portable units, should two have two outputs; one is for the watching crowd and the other is for the singer.

Another flexibility element to consider is the music flies played; can you play a collection of karaoke songs you burned on a CD? It is easy to find and buy karaoke music online, but you must consider the added cost of shipping and the time spent waiting for your music to arrive. Luckily, newer karaoke machines have USB ports, meaning no CD burning is required. Just plug the memory device into the karaoke machine and you are ready to go.

3. Price

The final factor you need to consider is price. Even portable karaoke machines vary greatly in price. The flexibility and features of a unit will determine its cost. When making your choice, consider your budget and your needs. By keeping these points in mind, you can find the perfect karaoke machine for your needs.
