Tired of the Same Fundraisers? Try Creative Fundraising
When you lead or involve in a non-profit organization, fundraising is always a difficulty and a need.
The same ancient fundraisers can leave you feeling bored. And if you are bored, just consider the feelings of the people you are trying to get donations from. Adding some variety into your attempts may make a big difference, both in terms of finances and your organization's attitude.
It has become really necessary to engage in creative fundraising. In order to compete and boost the profile of their business, non-profit leaders have had to think of fundraising in a new way.
Can you find new ideas for raising money? Can you have fun while doing it? These are tall orders to fill, but with creative fundraising, it is possible to find innovative and fun methods to meet your goals.
As much as you get disinterested of the same old fundraisers, so too do your fundgivers. A new class of fundraiser can really encourage a remarkable response among your donors.
How does this come true in a real non-profit organization? Imagine you are going to raise funds for an animal shelter.
The usual way to raise money for an animal shelter would definitely be to perform advocacy exercises while collecting funds from random people; this is how a lot of animal shelters do it.
However, apart from that what if you went with creative fundraising to come up with something like a pet day?
You could combine this with a school or daycare and have little tots and their parents visit and play with the animals from the shelter. They would get to see and interact with these cute pets in a nice, comfortable atmosphere.
If their kids have fun, then parents will be more tempted to donate money and the result would be to get the animal shelter more money. This is just an example of how creative and cheap fundraising ideas can actually make things better in addition to being fun to do.
How about a method for library fundraising? Creative ideas for school fundraisers are a dime a dozen but the best one is perhaps a library day.
Invite people from the community to view the library and all the fabulous services it offers. Students can participate by actually writing letters to parents asking for money. It may be more beautiful - and more well-received from a little boy's/girl's cute little hand! They can also create models or displays about different aspects of the library.
People are definitely more amenable to opening their handbags when they've been fed. You can couple library day with a lunch for even more fun and unexpected returns.
These are some examples of fruitful fundraising ideas that are not only fun, but practical at the same time.
