A herbal remedy for dementia symptoms that you can consider such as in cases of alzheimers disease is gingko biloba. Gingko biloba is a top selling herbal remedy in the U.S. It is commonly used for treating vascular dementia, peripheral claudication, and tinnitus of vascular origin.

Gingko biloba, a tree, was first used for ornamental purposes in Europe during the early part of the 18th century. This tree is actually a deciduous conifer tree with female and male forms. In the 1980s, Western medicine first took notice of ginkgo biloba when researchers conduct studies to determine its components. Multiple trials to date have investigated the efficacy of ginkgo for treating cerebrovascular disease and dementia and systematic reviews show that the herb can actually help improve the dementia symptoms.

Both the leaves and the seeds of this tree are used to fight various ailments.The seeds of this tree include fatty acids, bioflavones, and minerals, while the leaves contain lactones, sitosterol, glycosides, and anthocyanins.

The leaves are used to stimulate circulatory system, as an anti-inflammatory, and to help relax blood vessels. Circulatory diseases are commonly treated with gingko biloba, in addition to increasing the flow of blood to the brain. Some research experts say that ginkgoglide is just as effective as a prescription drug in treating irregular heartbeats. You can also the leaves of the gingko treat for treating leg ulcers, hemorrhoids, and varicose veins.

The seeds from the ginko tree are used quite frequently in Chinese medicine and are popularly known as bai gou in China and Asia. They are great for the relief of asthmatic symptoms and any other chest problems associated with the production of phlegm. Herbalists also often recommend using ginkgo seeds to help treat incontinence and excessive urination by toning up the urinary system.

Many traditional herbalists use infusions, fluid extracts, and tinctures made from the ginkgo biloba leaves to treat a wide variety of ailments. In Europe, extract of ginkgo biloba are widely used to treat elderly patients cases of cerebral arteriosclerosis. Other herbs, including linden
and periwinkle, are added to the fresh ginkgo biloba to help treat the symptoms of many circulatory system problems. Combining the ginkgo biloba leaves with kings clover is widely done to help remedy disorders of the veins. An infusion of ginkgo biloba is sometimes even used as a wash to help remedy hemorrhoids and varicose ulcers.

In conclusion, gingko biloba offers a good natural solution against the backdrop of an aging population who is looking for solutions in dementia and vasculopathy cases. However, you should thread carefully with the use of this herbal medicine. There can be side effects like headaches, skin problems, or other more serious problems and you should take this herb within recommended guidelines. Also, some herbs increase the risk of bleeding if used together with
ginkgo biloba. These herbs include feverfew, garlic, ginseng, red clover and dong quai. As such, consume gingko biloba only upon consultation with your doctor or herbalist.
