How To Tone Up Your Stomach In 3 Simple Steps
You won't tone up your stomach simply by exercise alone. Consider how long it's taken for you to build up that layer of fat around your middle and understand that it is the most difficult area to lose fat from. People focus on abdominal exercises alone which has no effect whatsoever in burning fat.
If you want to see some definition in your abdominal area you need to remove the layer of fat that is currently covering your middle. So how do we go about removing that layer of fat? Well we need to use a combination of nutrition and exercise. In fact while you may not believe it nutrition plays the more important role in burning stomach fat. Once you have the nutrition aspect sorted the exercises will work more effectively to tone up your stomach.

If you want to tone up your stomach you first need to look at your diet. So to start with ensure you drink lots of water, at least 6-8 glasses a day, instead of fizzy drinks. .
Cut out salt and check how much salt is in the foods you buy. Salty foods high in sodium will cause bloating and water retention. Eat foods higher in protein - fish, chicken, beef, pork etc and reduce your carb. intake.
Pass up on the sugary foods that fill you up but do nothing for you and choose wholemeal bread, brown rice, wholemeal pasta instead but limit your intake. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. After 3-4 weeks you will see a difference in your weight and this alone will slim down your stomach.

In conjunction with your healthy eating plan perform cardio exercise three times a week for 30-40 minutes. If you have not exercised for a while you may want to start out power walking, jogging, swimming or bicycling as these are excellent free methods of exercise that can burn calories. Once you build up a bit of fitness you may want to go to a gym exercise program or look at DVD programs you can use in your own home.
Increase the intensity and distance covered on each occasion you exercise. Once you see an improvement in your fitness level you can introduce a specific program targeted to involve cardio and resistance exercises which will improve on your fitness and take you to the next level. Remember consistency is the key to burning fat and losing weight.

To get the best results from stomach exercises and tone up your stomach you need to work on three core areas.
These core areas are Upper Abs, Lower Abs and Obliques. If you work on all 3 areas you will tone up the whole of your stomach area. Every time you work out you should be pushing the muscles harder to force the muscles to improve their tone. With consistent exercise as well as a nutritious diet they will start to flatten.
Once you are into a regular routine you should look for an exercise program, either at the gym or a DVD, that is broken down over beginner, intermediate and advanced levels to provide you with highly targeted exercises for the 3 core areas. You will then be able to increase the intensity of the exercises at a pace that suits your requirements and fits in with your daily routine.
