Why Do We Love Collecting Toy Fire Trucks
For many of us, collecting toy fire trucks is one of those novelties that just never wore off. We never seem to get sick of holding these small pieces of history (and for some of us, a small piece of our childhood) and as we get older, our desire for the big toys is never surpasses our passion for the small ones!
Not everyone is the same though, and we're all motivated by different things. For some, collecting toy fire trucks is a purely emotional thing. It takes them back to their childhood and offers an element of comfort in the fact that not everything is changing at a furious pace around us. For others, the novelty may be in building a collection that is both rare and valuable.
If take note of the homes that you go into, whether they be friends or family, rich or poor. Many will have a toy of some sort displayed somewhere for guests to see. Like on the mantle piece, in the display cabinet or even on a desk in the study. Why do we do that? Often it's a reminder of a time gone by, an era that we can look back on fondly. And toy fire trucks transport us so easily back to that time.
When we were children, our toy fire trucks were subject to our imaginations... and these were fraught with daring adventures, dangerous rescues and heroic deeds. For many, going back to these times and re-living the imaginations of a child can be more attractive than our real lives. It's these toys that take us back to that time of life that was a lot simpler and much more imaginative.
Each collector will, of course, have their own personal reasons for collecting toy fire trucks. Though sentimental value may be a major factor for some collectors, there are others that collect with the prospect of making money from their collections. There are still others who collect simply because they unable to part with those that they have had since their childhood.
