No doubt without too much use of your imagination you can picture your love handles. And it is only one small step to picture why they are called this. Isn't it strange then that we all want to lose our love handles? Particularly guys!

Ask yourself the question then, "How Can I get Rid Of My Love Handles?". You know the answer is straight forward but what bothers you is that it is not necessarily easy.

Your love handles sit over the area of your abdomen occupied by your oblique muscles. While there are many exercises that you can do to strengthen these muscles unfortunately these exercises on their own will do nothing to get rid of your love handles. The problem is the waist is a natural storage point for excess fat and our bodies will not burn off this fat as a first choice. Therefore to lose our love handles we need to accept that we need to lose overall body fat.

To get to the bottom of the problem you need to exercise and change your eating patterns.

Where exercise is concerned apart from exercising your abdominal muscles you more importantly need to do cardio exercise. The particular cardio exercise you do is important. You need to incorporate resistance training. But that is for the muscle boys I hear you say and yes I know that the common conception is that resistance training is for the muscle bound but hear me you need to do it. But not to excess.

You need work out a resistance training regime that not only exercises your main muscle groups but actually gets you short of breath at the same time. Figure out a routine that suits you and lets you work the main muscle groups, chest, shoulders, back and thighs in short sharp bursts. Then combine this with a good diet and you will see your overall body fat melting away and your muscles, particularly your abs, starting to show through.

You know that you need to kick out the junk food right? You know this, so just do it. But do not reduce the amount you eat! Look, if you are going to build up to doing some serious exercise you need to keep up the energy level in your body so replace the junk with nuts and fruit. Reduce the carbs you eat and replace them with protein. Don't be silly though you still need carbs, unrefined ones, but eat them mainly during the day and make your evening meal protein rich. Remember to snack mid morning and mid afternoon on fruit or nuts or a protein supplement .

You asked "How Can I Get Rid Of My Love Handles?" and frankly this is how you do it - and you know it! So what is stopping you? Just work out an exercise routine that has some resistance training in it and throw out the donuts et al! Listen, you may never get that six pack look and it can be down to all sorts of reasons, body shape, age, gender etc. But you can lose the fat and get fit and at least reduce the big love handles to dinky love handles!

Seriously it really is important to your health and lifestyle to get fit and stay fit! Then you will not need to ask how can I get rid of my love handles.
