The New Face Of Music Games
Most video game fans are familiar with the incredibly successful games that are being released as part of the Rock Band and Guitar Hero franchises. These games, while offering some variety in the songs they offer, are all centered on rock music. Both games offer players the chance to play some of their favorite rock songs of all time, from the Beatles, to Metallica, to the White Stripes. If you are a gamer, and you love rock music, the odds are that you probably already own at least one game from one of the two franchises.
What the market was missing, however, was a game for individuals who are not a big fan of rock music. There are many people who prefer club music, and hip hop to the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith, but until now there was nothing on the market that would provide a similar experience to Guitar Hero or Rock Band. If you fall into this category, then your wait is over with the new DJ Hero franchise. This new game, from the makers of Guitar Hero, comes with a turntable, as opposed to a guitar, that will let you re-create some of your favorite club and hip hop songs.
A turntable? Yes, it looks like a DJ turntable with the turntable, buttons and sliders that a real one would have. You push the buttons it time to the beats and move the slider and turntable to the reverb and different changes in the music. It takes a little bit of practice to get used to the new interface and once you get the hang of it it feels just like any other rhythm game, only a little bit different and with a different set of songs.
The game provides a great variety of songs, from some of the most popular DJs from the club and hip hop scene. Even if you are not a big fan of this type of music, the songs are still enjoyable, and you will have a great time playing this game.
The downside to this revolutionary game is that it is one of the highest priced games on shelves. It sells for $150, an although it is less than the new Beatles game, it is still a bit over priced for many peoples budgets this year. The best thing to do, to purchase it at a lesser price is to wait for a sale, or until after the holidays when many companies start dropping the prices of expensive items to reduce overstock.
