Very often, when you have people living in your home with allergies there are several restrictions that can arise when it comes to home decor. You will have to take extra care about the materials you use when you decorating your home. However, just because allergies exist in the home there is no reason for it to look barren and cold. You can still decorate your home to be attractive and inviting. Here are some tips that you can use when decorating an allergy free home:

1. First you should get rid of that wall to wall carpet. With carpet it will catch that dust that is floating around and the dander will also settle in the carpet. Switch to wood flooring and you will notice that a person who has allergies in your home you will notice that they will not be near as bad. Since carpet can collect so much dust and dander it's important to get this out of your home.

2. Another thing to try is a ceiling fan. Get one for each room of your house. Plus ceiling fans also come with lights so it will add some more light to a room. With the ceiling fan circulating air it will help out the person who suffers from those allergies. It's a very easy process to install and should not take you long at all. Also with this addition you will notice a savings in not only the heating bills, but also cooling bills.

3. Use a Decorative Humidifier and Air Purifier- There are some decorative air humidifiers and purifiers on the market. These can do wonders when it comes to helping someone with allergies breathe easier. While you will not want these products to be the centerpiece of your home, you can put them in an area where they are inconspicuous. By getting one of the modern, attractive air purifiers, you can make them fit into a contemporary home. If you do not have contemporary decor, you can hide these products with a screen.

4. If you want you should add an area rug it will provide a warm atmosphere to your decor. These area rugs are even made from natural products now that will even be better in your home and helping the person with an allergy. Go online and you should be able to find an area rug that is sharp looking and will fit in with any kind of decor you may have.

5. Blinds are a great addition to the windows instead of curtains. Curtains and drapes can trap the dust and can cause severe allergy reactions when the curtains are moved and dust is activated. Blinds can be wiped off and kept clean every week. You can buy allergen free blinds, wood flooring, tiles, and other materials used to decorate you home the way that you want it to look. Always have an air purifier running at all times.
