Gorgo: This film is an excellent sci-fi tale of a captured ocean beast put on display in London, and the massive parent, who is coming to the rescue. The film has excellent visual effects. Rambling Rose: An evocative story set in 1930s Georgia, with Dem as an oversexed senseless gal who comes to work for a ladylike family headed by Duvall and Ladd. Vibrant, pleasantly detailed, and well performed, with numerous delightful surprises during the voyage. Cast includes Laura Dem, Robert Duvall, Diane Ladd, Lukas Haas, John Heard, Kevin Conway, Robert J. Burke, Lisa Jakub, and Evan Lockwood. (112 minutes, 1991)
Seize the Day: Williams is momentous as Tommy Withelm, turning 40 and a failure by any standard, broke, and much in need of finding love. Wiseman and Stiller offer fine aid as his cold hearted dad and a con man he naively believes in. Lots of recognizable faces in tiny roles: Tony Roberts, Richard Shull, John Fiedler, Jo Van Fleet, William Hickey, Eileen Heckart, and numerous others. Cast includes Robin Williams, Joseph Wiseman, Jerry Stiller, and Glenne Headly. (93 minutes, 1986)

Cherish: Unconventional tale of a black sheep who's victimized by a stalker and then engaged in a mishap that lands her in prison however her "jail" is a condo, with an electric gadget shackled to her ankle limiting her movement. In time, the deputy who controls the instrument becomes her only buddy. Crisp, unique thriller set in San Francisco. Cast includes Robin Tunney, Tim Blake Nelson, Nora Dunn, Brad Seek, Lindsay Crouse, Liz Phair, and Jason Priestley. (102 minutes, 2002)
