About Adam: This is a true "chick flick". About Adam is a light hearted romantic comedy about a Don Juan type who courts all three sisters of a quirky, and tight knit, Scottish family. Somehow this charmer has all three women falling head over heels for him. Kate Hudson, Frances O'Connor, and Stuart Townsend star. (2001 Comedy-Romance)
In Enemy Country: So-so WW2 story, set in France and England, filmed on a back-lot. Not extremely persuading. Cast includes Tony Franciosa, Anjanette Comer, Man Stockwell, Paul Hubschmid, Tom Bell, and Emile Genest. (107 minutes, 1968)
Payday: Acerbic, vibrant picture of life on the concert trail with a cocky, selfish country and western music megastar, a jerk who calls on his supervisor to "fix" some complications that crop up during the concert tour. One of those prototypical early1970s films that makes modern American movie theater come across bland. Cast includes Rip Torn, Anna Capri, Cliff Emmich, and Michael C. Gwynne. (103 minutes, 1973)
Adam's Apples: This movie is a bizarre dark comedy about two very different men who have a battle of wills. It is a newly developed religious zealot versus a hard core neo-Nazi criminal. The battle of good versus evil is on. The main stars are Ulrich Thomsen, Mads Mikkelsen, Nicolas Brom, and Paprika Steen. (German-Danish-comedy directed by Anders Thomas Jensen)
Pearl Harbor: This epic movie looks at the devastation of that eventful day, December 7, 1941 when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. This story follows the incredible courage of a nurse and two daring pilots, who bravely move forward, all the time trying to deal with the overwhelming catastrophe before them.
Only You: Likable confection in reference to a youthful female who invests her entire life looking for her perfect mate whose name was summoned up on a Ouija board. Cast includes Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey, Jr., Bonnie Seek, Joaquim De Almeida, Fisher Stevens, and Phyllis Newman. (108 minutes, 1994)
