Taba Egypt - A Different Type Of Beach Holiday

By Jeffrey Smith
Oct 28, 2009
Taba Egypt is in the located northernmost region of Egypt, on the Gulf of Aqaba, in the Red Sea. Since it is a border town with Israel, it is a weekend vacation spot for both Egyptians and Israelis.

Getting to Taba could not be easier. Since the opening of its international airport, you can find direct flights from select cities in Europe. Buses run daily from Nuweiba, Dahab, Sharm el-Sheikh, Cairo, and Suez. You also have the option of taking a taxi service, which is comparably priced, to and from Nuweiba, Tarabeen, Dahab, and Sharm.

Castle Zaman is a rather fascinating memorial East of the Sinai peninsula. It offers spectacular views of mountains on all sides stretching into four countries. It is situated on the ancient road between St Catherine's Monastery and Jerusalem. Exquisite meals of stewed meat with figs, dates and vegetables are available - but make sure you have sufficient time; good food takes time to prepare.

You will find no shortage of things to do or see in Taba Egypt. The crystal clear blue waters that surround Taba are home to some of the most spectacular marine life on the planet. Spend your morning lounging on the beach, followed by an afternoon stroll through the trendy shops and cafes.

If you are feeling a little more adventurous, you can take a short 50km trip to the Colored Canyon, with his spectacular vistas and brilliant colors. Only 15km south of Taba, you will find a beautiful Fjord. This spectacular protected bay features unforgettable scenery and gorgeous coral reefs.

Finally, the Three Corners El Wakela Resort golf course provides a challenging 18 hole, par 72 course for those who have an affinity for the game. Most avid golfer's will tell you that, in addition to a good challenge regarding hazards and shot placement, you will see some of the most picturesque scenery you have ever seen, let alone on a golf course. Taba, Egypt seems like an ideal location for a weekend excursion or perhaps a central point in a more broad traveling experience. No matter what brings you to Taba, you should stay for what it has to offer.
