A rare film that manages to make a shift from comedy to poignant drama, with a denouement that's almost heartrending-as a result of excellent inscribing and remarkable performing by the leads. Cast includes Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllen Haal, John C. Reilly, Zoey Deschanel, Tim Blake Nelson, Mike Off-white, Deborah Hurry, and John Carroll Lynch. (93 minutes, 2002)
Pack Up Your Troubles: Daffy two-some are followed throughout WW1 after some Army shenanigans they try to pinpoint family members of late friends' daughter. This is a fun movie. Cast includes George Marshall, Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Mary Carr, Grady Sutton, and Billy Gilbert. (68 minutes, 1932)
Black Hawk Down: The incredible true story recounting the events in Somalia. U.S. soldiers were supposed to be on the ground for only an hour. Things went wrong, and before it was over, 18 U.S. soldiers were dead, and so were hundreds from Somalia.
The Pink Panther: Steve Martin tries to duplicate the magic that Peter Sellers put into the part of Inspector Jacques Clouseau. This bumbling French detective seems to make a mess out of any situation he finds himself in. In spite of this he always ends up putting the criminals behind bars.
Cry the Beloved Country: Easy going back country pastor voyages to Johannesburg looking for his child when destiny links his road with that of a prosperous, bigoted white landowner. This heart rending tale journals the racial divisiveness at its roots in South Africa, without resorting to preaching. Cast includes Canada Lee, Charles Carson, Sidney Poitier, Geoffrey Eager, Reginald Ngeabo, and Joyce Carey. (111 minutes, 1951)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Outrageously naughty film spoof, spiced with sex, and rock music, in regards to a un-crooked couple, Janet and Brad Sarandon, and Bostwick are stranded in an old gloomy home full of weirdos from Transylvania Music and words by O'Brien; melodies contain "Time Warp, and "Crazy and Wild Thing'.
