Overcoming Colon Problems with Colonic Irrigation
Colon cancer has the dubious distinction of being the second most prevalent form of cancer, second only to lung cancer. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people are diagnosed with this serious disease. What is to blame for the increase in incidence of colon cancer? Some would argue that the build up of fecal matter in the intestine is a large part of the problem.
Despite the fact that some in the mainstream medical community say colon cleansing is not necessary or even advisable, it remains a very popular alternative therapy for promoting optimum health.
There are other colon related diseases and disorders than can severely impact an individual?s life, and they can even result in removal of portions of the intestine through a colostomy.
As a result of large amounts of intestine being removed, your body is no longer able to process and excrete fecal matter. Instead, it is redirected to a colostomy bag. This is worn externally and must be cleaned frequently.
To avoid this unwanted and life-changing procedure, many people are trying to prevent colon illness by turning to colonic irrigation. While you cannot always prevent illness, it may be possible to maintain optimum colon health with this method, as well as healthy eating habits.
High fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils are just two examples of the synthetic foods that bombard our colons on a regular basis.
Again, while it is possible to eat all natural foods and still develop colon cancer, it is thought that foods laden with preservatives and chemicals greatly heighten the risk.
As a result of a diet full of processed and synthetic foods, our bodies can become nutrient-deficient. The digestive system can no longer absorb needed nutrients, and this can result in chronic constipation and other ailments.
This condition goes widely unnoticed by most of its sufferers, as bowel moments are made, but are reduced in size. This is due to the walls of the intestine being coated with hardened matter.
Malnutrition becomes a concern because the body is not absorbing and processing necessary nutrients. This can go unnoticed by many people, but they will notice that they just don't "feel like themselves." This is because your overall health and well-being is affected. Diets rich in natural and unprocessed foods can help remedy these symptoms.
When build up has already occurred, a dietary change may work as a preventative measure, but it will not cure the problem. Many experts believe that 5 to 20 lbs of fecal matter can exist within the colon at any given time.
Many people find laxatives or hydrotherapy effective in cleansing the bowels. Not only does it reduce the feeling of being unwell that many people suffer, it also allows the colon and digestive system to get back to work and start to absorb nutrients again. This in turn alleviates constipation and symptoms of malnutrition.
Not only will this improve your overall health, but many people report weight loss from multiple cleansings.
Symptoms that may suggest you would benefit from a colon cleansing are usually subtle, as they can occur for many reasons. Some examples include diarrhea, insomnia, difficulty with weight loss, constipation, abdominal gas, prostate problems, fatigue, headaches and backaches.
When your body speaks, it is important to listen. If you experience these symptoms, listen to your colon and take measures to ensure its health.
