Rapid Weight Loss With a 7 Day Weight Loss Diet - Is it a Great Idea?

Do dieticians and fitness trainers recommend going on a 7 day weight loss plan? Certain things might be a good enough excuse to go that route such as a friend's wedding or high school reunion. You've also been saving money to buy that blue dress that would go perfect with your new hairstyle.

If you need to attend such an event, then I would even go so far as to say: "go for it". Do dieticians and fitness trainers have enough reasons not to recommend it? Take these facts into consideration when the moment arises when you need to make such a decision.

You're Training Your Body to Burn Fat Slowly

Let's say your 7 day weight loss diet tells you to eat 1050 calories per day. That is the minimum calorie intake you should consider. When you follow this program for 7 days, you teach your metabolism to burn only 1050 calories per day. In other words, you're teaching your body to burn fat slower. When your body goes into survival mode, it tries to keep as much resources available as possible.

So why then do you lose weight so quickly in the first few days? You see, your body will still burn fat at the normal rate and then slowly realizes that you're eating a lot less then usual. As soon as it realizes it, your body will slow down its metabolism till it only burns around 1000 calories per day. That means that you won't lose more weight because your body has already adapted.

After you've completed the quick fix 7 day weight loss diet you'll probably go back to your old routine with 2500 calories per day. Now, your body is still in its "survival mode" when you follow your old routines. In other words, you've trained your body to burn around 1100 calories per day and you're now providing it with 2500 calories per day. That is an extra 1400 calories your body will store as fat. Not only will you gain back your weight but you'll also gain more weight than before. The body takes longer to increase its metabolism as for it to slow down.

Conclusion

There are a few reasons why you can follow such a diet plan. You can follow it to clean your body. It's almost like a kind of "detox week" where you'll get rid of all the bad bacteria in your body. If the sole purpose of the plan is to lose weight very fast then I won't recommend it. Within 3 weeks you'll gain more fat than before. Rather do some proper research and find a weight loss plan that doesn't promise unrealistic results. The best diet is one where you'll lose weight on continues basis till you've reached your ideal weight. Small portions of food at regular intervals each day have always been a winner.
