All Golfers Need A Golf Divot Tool
The rules of golf etiquette are taken seriously by all serious golfers, and following them can help to lower your score. if you consider the percentage of golf strokes that are taken in the form of putts on and around the green you will see the quality of the green can really affect your score. Every golfer wants to have the best chance available of having their score reflect the level of golfer they are. Golf is less fun when you lose strokes due to ball marks making your putts go off line.
For now, let's focus on the green itself. I wish every starter on every golf course would check every golfer at the start of his or her round and make sure they have a divot repair tool. If they don't, they should be sent back to the clubhouse to get one. A divot repair tool is one of the least expensive things you need in a sport that is NOT a cheap sport to equip yourself to play.
All golf course sell divot tools ranging from simple plastic tools that cost just a dollar or two, to more elaborate and decorative divot tools that might cost as much as twenty five dollars. When a golfer arrives at each green, the first thing he should do is repair his ball mark. This process takes less than 10 seconds, and if every golfer did this simple task the game of golf would become much more enjoyable for all golfers. If every golfer followed this simple rule, all we would have to worry about is the speed and direction of our putt instead of watching it go off course due to hitting ball marks along it's path.
if every golfer repaired not only his ball mark, but took the next step and repaired one more, we would be on the way to perfect putting greens. On top of this, if you see another golfer not repair his ball mark, consider it your duty to educate him and show him the light. make him understand why we follow the rules and how it will make our game better. The next time he does repair his ball mark, he may just repair one more. If we get to that point, the game of golf will be a better, more enjoyable game to play.
All golfers should think about not only having a divot tool in their bag, but give them as gifts. Buy a batch of affordable plastic divot tools and just give them to other golfers or leave them around the course and clubhouse for other golfers to find and use. Let's all work for smoother greens. The game of golf will reap the benefits, and those of us who play it will feel great about that.
