Before you look out your trainers and start pulling on that exercise gear onto your unfit body, there must be something that motivates you to work towards improving your fitness level.

Did something happen to make you want to get started on a fitness program? Poor health, some aches and pains, shortness of breath or maybe just a special event coming up that you want to shed a few pounds for.

Easy fitness is possible once you have taken that first step in deciding that you need to take action NOW.

Outlined below are seven easy steps to get you started on your easy fitness program.

1. Set measurable targets.

An easy fitness program is essential to start you on your journey. Maybe you just want to lose a few pounds or you want to have a certain fitness level but keep this goal in mind to help you on your journey.

If this weight loss is being monitored by your doctor in regard to health issues, even a small amount of weight loss can bring significant improvement in many conditions.

Your overall fitness objective can be broken down into smaller steps to manage the process.

2. Keep the Vision of yourself in your mind at all times.

It is vital that you keep this goal before you at all times. See yourself thinner, fitter and in better health. This will keep you motivated.

As well as helping you to lose weight and get fit quickly an easy fitness program will release feel good endorphins which will make you want to stick with the program.

3. Maintain a journal.

You will record everything you eat and the exercise you do. If you do this you can be more organised and your fitness program will become a daily routine. By writing things down you are 11 times more likely to succeed.

4. Ask a friend or family member to join in.

By involving other people you will increase your motivation and be more inclined to continue with the program.

5. Exercising at home.

Do the program while you are watching TV or your favorite movie. The time will pass more quickly and you will find it easier to continue.

Getting fit will not take up a large part of your day

6. Work out to your favorite music.

Choose a fast paced CD to get you exercising! Maybe a slower tune for the warm up and cool-down...

These routines will never have to be dull or boring when music becomes a part of it.

7. Treat yourself to a pedometer

For an investment of between $10-$15, you will have a record-keeping device that monitors each step you take and simply by taking a walk or jog, you are benefiting your heart and burning calories at the same time.

Aim for 10,000 steps daily but just keep moving as much as possible.

The image of you wearing that new dress or pair of jeans that you are working towards will be your focus and keep you working towards that goal.

If your doctor has indicated that you are suffering health problems as a direct result of being overweight or being unfit then it is urgent that you take steps with your doctors approval to change your current habits.

Regardless of what it is, make certain that you remain true to your goals using an easy fitness program to become a fitter, healthier, happier person.
