It Takes 2: Surprisingly well designed comedy for children in reference to look-alikes who trade places in request to help each other. The fabulously prosperous gal has a dad who's getting ready to wed a patently terrible lady, when the orphan is getting ready to lose her best buddy, the communal employee who watches the orphanage. The doubles give extremely likable performances, as do their adult costars. Cast includes Kirstie Alley, Steve Guttenberg, Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Philip Bosco, Desmond Roberts, Ernie Grunwald, and Lawrence Dane. (101 minutes, 1995)
Just a Gigolo: Extremely fascinating cast is the best part of this odd melodrama featuring Bowie as a Prussian war vet who floats from job to job in Berlin before ultimately finding his real purpose. Dietrich, in her last film appearance, pops in long enough to sing the title melody. Rome's vigorous performance gives lift to choppy film. Cast includes David Bowie, Sydne Rome, Kim Novak, David Hemmings, Maria Schell, Curt Jurgens, and Marlene Dietrich. (105 minutes, 1979)
All at Sea: Strong comedy that keeps its own all the way through. Guinness is adorable as sailor who couldn't bear the sight of water although purchases rundown home on a wharf, turning it into an entertainment palace. Original title was Barnacle Bill. Cast includes Alec Guinness, Irene Browne, Percy Herbert, and Harold Goodwin. (87 minutes, 1957)
Good Will Hunting: Four buddies hang out together in South Boston, although one of them has an uncommon present: he's a prodigy. When math professor Skarsgiird gets wind of this, he demands that the youthful guy halt trashing his abilities, and sends him to a psychologist! Professor Williams tries to fracture his brittle shell. This is a well-performed fiction written by co-stars Damon and Ben Affleck that doesn't fall short with a lack of excellent characters. Cast includes Matt Damon, Robin Williams, Ben Affleck,Minnie Driver, SteIlan Skarsgiird, Casey Affleck, and Cole Hauser. (126 minutes, 1997)
The Leading Man: British backstage show romance in regards to an American film megastar who seduces a playwright's desolate spouse and his leading-woman mistress. When it might relatively make up its mind whether it's a joke drama or a light thriller, it's still extremely amusing stuff. Bon Jovi is excellent as the brash, amoral Yankee, and Galiena and Newton are fetching as the females snared in his web. Cast includes Jon Bon Jovi, Anna Galiena, Lambert Wilson, Thandie Newton, Barry Humphries, and David Warner. (100 minutes, 1997)
Clue: Stupid joke whodunit based on the trendy board game of the same name with all the recognizable characters Mrs. Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Miss Red, et al. assembled for a murderous day in a Victorian mansion. Everyone tries extremely hard bet there is nothing they can do to save this weak film. Cast includes Eileen Brennan, Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Martin Ponder, and Howard Hesseman. (87 minutes, 1985)
The Daring Dobermans: The film offers friendly family viewing as the canines are prepared for a different challenging heist by a new team of crooks. Cast includes Charles Knox Robinson, Tim Considine, David Moses, Claudio Martinez, and Joan Caulfield. (90 minutes, 1973)
