Changing Diaper Bags
Isn't it great that diaper bags have come such a long way from the way they used to look years ago? Gone are the days of mere practicality and here are the days of chic style and understated elegance. Functionality is no longer the central key for modern Moms when they begin their search for a new diaper bag. Now they expect good styling mixed with modern technologies that cover their every need. Despite the vast array of bags available, they still fall into a selection of categories that I'll outline for you below.
1 The Designer Diaper Bag. OK, this bag is always going to be top-heavy on style. Functionality is not the main priority for a bag like this but a beautiful design with a beautiful print is high on the priority list. In many ways they often resemble a clutch purse, but they you can sling one over your shoulder too. If you need lots of space then you shouldn't be disappointed, although a point worth noting is that some people find them heavy across the shoulder when carried for any length of time. If you like a lot of fashion, and fashion is very important to you then make no mistake the designer bag is for you. Watch the price though, they can be expensive.
The Designer Bag: As the name suggests the designer range of diaper bags are ultra fashionable and many a modern movie star can be seen carrying them. In many ways they closely resemble the common clutch purse but they conveniently sling over the shoulder too. Again, these bags afford lots of room but their practicality usually doesn't supersede their styling, which is always very, very chic. Commonly in the world of diaper bags they are often considered style-heavy with some complaints that they can be heavy across the shoulder.
3 The Messenger Diaper Bag How on earth did this bag come to be called a Messenger bag? Well, it's not that difficult to figure out once you've seen one because their styling looks very similar to a mailing bag. They come replete with lots of pockets that you will find no trouble finding as you wear it. They're a popular bag because they tend to have a rather unisex feel about them - think of a laptop bag and you won't be far away from the design. They're a very practical bag but look way cool too.
4 The Stroller Diaper Bag As the name suggests these bags are aimed at fitting to your stroller. They have long handles that easily fit over the bars of your stroller and keep your hands free (most of the time) for your baby duties. A very popular choice with modern Moms because they're quite practical with some fashion styling thrown in the mix.
Those are the four main types although there are some new bags that bridge one or two styles at the same time. These days it is not uncommon for the modern Mom to have more than one bag, which helps to meet various fashion and practical needs. You will be spoiled for choice with some truly stunning fabrics and prints that come in solids color, polka dots, metallic and many more. The practical decisions you will have to make will rest upon things like thermal pockets for bottles and the many different ways the bag closes. Those range through zipper, magnetic clasps, and various Velcro snaps. Take your time, think through your specific requirements and don't get bogged down by thinking you can only have one bag - you can have two!
