Disappointment for the Green Bay Packers in Week Two

By John Kaplan
Nov 2, 2009
With a disappointing season in 08', 6-10, behind the Green Bay Packers, the team looks to be a contender in the NFC North Division. They're strong on both sides of the ball and have a young QB that can take this team to the next level.

Packers fans want to believe that Aaron Rogers will take their team to the Super Bowl shortly. And most do believe he will get them there in a matter of time. He's young and has a very bright future.

Brett Favre is an icon in Green Bay despite how his departure ended there. Aaron Rogers must show he is capable in taking the Packers to the Super Bowl, but he can't do it alone. If the management bring in the right players around him, I think he's the type of QB to make this happen.

The Packers have a very good team overall, an every down running back with Ryan Grant, a veteran WR in Donald Driver (who caught many passes from Favre), and a stellar defense that will improve over the course of the 09' season.

The Packers have a solid QB in Rogers, WR in Donald Driver, and a good RB in Ryan Grant. The Packers rank in the top 10 in scoring, during the colder months in Green Bay points will become a premium.

This was a game that the Packers were very heavily favored to win, and with good reason. They were simply viewed as the stronger of the two teams. I believe they were the stronger of the two teams, but the Bengals were definitely impressive.

If the Packers think they can contend they must beat the Tampa Bays Buccaneers, Detroit Lions, and Cleveland Browns of the league. The good teams must beat the bad teams in the league in order to keep pace with the other good teams in their division - Packers must not play down to their lesser opponents.

The Packers do have the potential to win the NFC North because have the necessary skill position players to do so. The Packers lost many close games in 08' which hurt their season tremendously -- maybe the Packers win the close games they lost last season.
