Email Marketing: A Necessary Tool
Today's rough economy presents a dilemma for many small businesses. The cash flow that businesses once depended on is unavailable. The daily struggle has become for the purpose of mere survival, and the idea of growth seems far-fetched and immaterial.
As such, a new method of cost-efficient advertising is necessary, but let's first discuss a few that already exist.
Strategies such as direct mail and newsletters have proven to be costly and inefficient. When all is said and done, companies have found themselves just barely covering the costs of expenses such as stationary, publication, and postage with their profits. These small businesses are also left with no direct knowledge with regard to the extent of which their mailing campaigns benefitted them.
Moreover, the direct mailer simply assumes that his target is interested in his product but has no real evidence that such is the case. This results in many wasted advertisements.
In concordance, a balance between business development and limiting expenses for survival must be achieved. The appropriate course of action for such purposes is email advertising.
The major reasons for this are clear as costs such as stationary and postage are non-existent, and when it comes to bulk mailings, this makes a big difference. Furthermore, by using bulk email software, a business is able to directly track the source of returns in order to more precisely target its clients. When a consumer responds to any portion of the email, this software automatically delivers more mailings to the consumer to support a client-business relationship and further growth.
However, while email marketing campaigns do provide all of the above, many companies are reluctant to do so due to the mass amount of spam that is sent out to consumers. This unsolicited bulk email creates a very negative view of all who advertise through use of email campaigns in the eye of the consumer. This has gone to the extent that all major email providers all possess spam filters that separate legitimate commercial emails from the unsolicited ones.
In conclusion, email mailing campaigns have proven to have the ability to distribute advertisements to a variety of detailed, potential customers at a relatively low cost. This is the necessary tool that provides for cost-efficient development.
