An Independent Review of World Ventures
World Ventures became known publically on December 10, 2005. Launched from the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, it soon became a recognized name in the MLM world. To date the company has done over $150 million in sales.
The company sells travel packages to its members. For an upfront payment and a small monthly fee, they can buy vacations for wholesale prices. The company says that after two vacations most members have made back their membership fee in travel savings. The company also allows its members to become resellers, and share in the wealth.
This is called the LTC package. Leisure Travel Consultants, as they are called, get a customized website that offers the two World Ventures products. They are paid when people book travel through their website, and also when people sign up to be LTCs under them. They are encouraged to show their site to friends and family. This misses the whole point of having a website.
Advice like this is the reason so many people won't go near MLM with a ten foot pole. What kind of person puts up a website and then only tells people about it? A person trained in internet marketing by an MLM company, that's who. If these people were really learning about internet marketing, they would learn how to get people who are already online looking for vacation ideas to look at their site.
People who achieve success, sometimes incredible success with MLM, are successful marketers. The knowledge they gain is useful in all marketing, though, not just MLM products. The trick is to know how to market to buyers who are using the internet to do research and make purchases. People who learn internet marketing begin to sell all kinds of products in all kinds of areas. These products pay out a commission on every product sold. There are thousands of people who are working full time out of their homes, just selling other people?s products.
Marketing can be learned from attending a four year college, reading books about marketing and experimenting with websites, or by taking an online marketing course. The advantages of online marketing courses are many.
The first is, people don't have to figure it out all by themselves, through trial and error. They have people who know what they're doing teaching them. Second, there are no core curriculum requirements with online marketing courses. Just the marketing education, and for way less than a four year degree costs.
In review, World Ventures is an upstanding company, but the marketing advice they give to their members is not sufficient to give their members a real understanding of how to get the most out of their custom travel websites.
