Stroll Down Taste bud Memory Lane with Retro Candy
Harking back to the good old days of childhood brings back a lot happy memories. Tossing the ball in the yard, staying up late at a buddy's house, or maybe family road trips come to mind. One memory in particular that brought a smile to my face was thinking about when my friends and I would pick out our favorite candies from the local candystore.
Present day candy just don't seem like they used to. There is something about retro candy that makes us all just grin. Today's sweets are no match to the likes of : Teaberry gum, Necco wafers, Boston Baked Beans, root beer barrels, or Abba Zabba. Each one of these yummy sweets reminds us of different happy adolescence memories.
Since many of these candies are not found in shops it started me wondering, wouldn't it be fun to celebrate these retro candy favorites? One idea that came to mind was to order lots of old fashioned candy from the internet and have a celebration with a nostalgic theme. With the holidays coming, this may be a wonderful. Not only does candy function as a great treat and decoration, but also it is the perfect point of interest.
When guests notice some of the candies they haven't tasted in ages they are going to have to get a taste. Most have a tale of their favorite childhood candy. Another way to party with nostalgic candy is to send it as a gift. There are websites that sell old fashioned candy by itself or in bulk that is smartly organized into a gift box. What a good way to send a salutation to a friend or anybody else.
There are some present boxes that have about fifteen different kinds of retro candy that most of us haven't seen in ages. The fun part was sampling each retro candy and reminiscing about those times as a kid. Who would not be thrilled getting some of their old time faves as a gift?
We like old time candy not only for the memories but because it tastes good too. Kids these days still get a kick out of gum cigarettes, circus peanuts, gold mine gum, or perhaps rock candy.
These are just a few of many concepts to bring back some great retro candy. Whatever your first choice of candy it is just plain fun! More than eating candy, nostalgic candy provides stories and entertainment with friends, kids, neighbors, or fellow workers. Give it a try and expect a genuine giant smile!
