What Is Natural And Gives You Energy?

By Randy Cage

In Australia, a recent study suggested that some doctors are drinking six cups off coffee or more per day, just to finish their long shifts at work. The problem is that the recommended dosage is 2 cups per day as a maximum. It is fine to drink caffeine, just in moderation as not to kill ourselves by forcing our bodies to function when rest is actually required. So whether it's six cups a day or the recommended two cups a day, let's take a look at some replacements that could be a lot better for you.

Natural Energy Sources - If a person needs an energy boost to get through the day (or night), there are some excellent herbal supplements that will help without negative side effects.

Green tea has recently come into favour as a natural stimulant and can be found in many forms. Besides the basic tea, green tea is often blended with fruit juices to provide a refreshing iced tea beverage. Green tea affects the nervous system, creating a feeling of comfort and exhilaration. Green tea is also known as an anti-oxidant and has also been shown to lower LDL cholesterol levels. Green tea does have caffeine, however it is in lower doses than coffee when used in the same manner.

Another option is to try Yerba Mate, which is drunk like a tea and tastes like a cross between green tea and coffee with hints of tobacco and oak. It is a South American drink of health and friendship. Though it does contain caffeine, it has health benefits such as stimulating mental alertness, aiding in weight loss, relieving stress, calming allergies, aiding weight loss, supporting the immune system and cleansing the colon.

The above two teas are sort of well known, with this third one a little lesser known. This herb is called Gotu Kola and it has many anti-stress properties to help your mental and physical health for the better... all the while also providing you with improved memory, and that energy kick that you are searching for. Try it today!

If you are looking for a product that doesn't contain any caffeine, then look no further than peppermint tea. Peppermint tea is highly refreshing and great for a hot summer's day... plus it gives you all the energy that you need day in and day out.

Please note that some of these herbs may have contraindications for pregnancy and should not be used unless a qualified health care practitioner is consulted.
