Picking Out Communion Favors
One of the most important events for any Catholic family is First Communion. It is often celebrated with a gathering of family and friends after a day's church services. Favors are usually given to each of the guests as a way of thanking them for joining the family on this special occasion. There is huge amount of different choices available to be given as Communion favors, and you can even personalize them as well.
Votive Candles - Votive candles are small candles that are about an inch and a half to two inches tall and an inch in diameter. They are available in both scented and fragrance-free varieties. It is possible to get personalized votive candles with a special label on them imprinted with your child's whole name, First Communion date, and a small picture or stylized design.
Fans - There are numerous shops that sell either folding fans or paperboard fans that they will personalize. Having a fan with your child's name and First Communion date on it makes for a nice keepsake. People will appreciate having something to fan themselves with if the church is especially warm.
Bracelets - Wearing brightly colored rubber bracelets is a growing fad. There are numerous on-line retailers and party supply shops that carry these cute and meaningful rubber bracelets with religious symbols and phrases on them. They can make wonderful Communion favors if there are going to be a large number of young ones attending.
Bubbles - Novelty bottles of bubbles are very easy to find at any party supply store and on the internet. You can usually have them personalized if you like with the date of the First Communion, your child's name, and even a small picture or symbol at an affordable price. Bubbles make wonderful Communion favors when there are going to be a good number of young children attending. Children love receiving bottles of bubbles.
Candies - It is very easy to get chocolates or other packaged candies with your child's name and the First Communion date printed on front of the packaging. Pay attention to the weather when you intend on buying candy as Communion favors - if it is too hot, chocolate will melt and can make a big mess. Mints are also a great and delicious choice. Several party supply shops sell individually wrapped mints with religious designs printed right on the wrappers.
Programs - You can get program that are specially printed up of the celebration day's events with inspiring phrases and pictures. These can make a very wonderful keepsake that people will love to keep. Using colorful paper along a celebratory font or design can transform the program from just a useful paper to wonderful keepsake for all of the guests to remember the momentous day for a long time.
The types of favors you choose should be completely based on who will be attending the First Communion and celebration afterward. If there are a lot of young ones that are going to attend, consider child-friendly favors like bubbles. If it is going to be mostly adults, think about giving them something they can save for a long time like a fan or a program.
