I Can Watch TV On My Computer With A Cable Modem!
Back in the old days when the internet was only a few years old, to watch TV on my computer with a cable modem never crossed my mind. It was just not possible. As time passed by, however, I discovered that there is absolutely nothing impossible with technology, the internet specifically.
If you must know, a cable modem is one piece of device connecting your PC to your cable TV. This means that you can watch just about any kind of cable show on your PC. There are two connections that come with your cable modem; the first connects to your TV while the other one is intended for your PC. Usually, there is an internet service provider that supplies your cable modem, so the device is most likely not available in computer and TV shops.
To connect your cable modem in your computer, you need to have an internet card in one of the slots in your computer. As you must be aware, many computers do not come with such card, so you may have to provide your own in this case.
You need to subscribe with a certain provider to enjoy the benefits of watching TV on your computer, and there are actually many providers of cable modems to choose from. Of course, though, you need to make sure that you are able to take full advantage of this advanced technology.
So maybe you may want to visit some 3rd party review sites first so at a glance you can more or less see which providers can let you watch your favorite shows on your PC without asking too much from you. Concentrate on these sites and take time to review each one of them. Do your own investigation and evaluation of these sites using factors such as customer satisfaction, features, and affordability, to name a few. While review sites can shorten the process even more, you may nonetheless feel more secured if you are able to verify the things that are written on the review sites.
Joining technological forums and communities can also help you make an informed decision. In many cases you need to register yourself so you can participate actively and post your inquiries to the group's message board, but registration is free anyway and can be completed in a few easy steps.
A cable modem is a worthy investment, especially if you are someone who is addicted to the TV and the internet. You get to do two great things at the same time --- watch TV and surf the internet.
