The Right Golf Clubs for Your Game Are Only A Mouse Click Away

The way we play golf has changed and a lot of that change has to do with the golf clubs we play. Our irons have changed, as most iron manufacturing companies now offer sets that start from the 4 or even 5-irons in answer to the ever mounting popularity of hybrid golf clubs of hybrid golf clubs amongst most golfers. It makes sense, as for most club golfers hybrids are much easier to hit than the irons.

Driver dimensions are regulated by the USGA and R...A volume limits. That limit is 460cc and for most club golfers, bigger really is better. If your driving is unreliable, a bigger driver will probably help in most cases. New perimeter weighted designs and modern square or triangular profiles make for a far more forgiving driver, even on bad swings. 460cc drivers allow for a bigger margin of error.

As with all clubs, the shaft is the engine of your driver. Play a driver with the wrong shaft and you'll struggle to find any accuracy or distance. Most common faults can be reduced or even eliminated simply by playing the right shafts. If a slice is ruining your scores, then playing a more flexible shaft might be the answer. Struggling to get any height - a shaft with a softer tip section could well be the solution. Match your swing speed to the right shaft and your chances of success will improve. If you don't know how fast you swing the club, most shaft ratings also calculate the carry versus swing speed specifications. Check the ratings for various shafts and opt for one with a carry rating that matches your typical yardage.

Hybrid clubs are the top increasing segment in golf equipment sales. If your long game is inconsistent, hybrid clubs would probably be your best bet. Easy to hit and very versatile from all kind of lie, hybrids are easy to hit from the tee and the fairway. You can even chip with them. These are clubs that are designed to hit high, so most shaft companies are selling specialty shafts built with this in mind.

With irons the choices are even bigger. Modern iron designs are there to help with most of the common flight problems. Offset designs to reduce or even eliminate slices, for many who struggle with the fat shot and need extra height on their iron shots, wide sole models can help. Take a good look at the irons you play. If their design isn't helping your weak points, then it's probably time for an upgrade.

The short game is where you make your scores and that offers plenty of options as well. Forgiving wedge designs mean you don't have to make any compromises with your wedge play anymore. If you have difficulty playing little flop-shots then high lofted wedges are there to help. If your bunker play is unreliable, a hollow sand wedge may help. These hollow wedges are almost impossible to miss-hit and make easy work of just about any bunker.

Recent changes in equipment rules now allow for some pretty strange looking putter designs. Weird looking, but playable. If your putting is irregular, one of the new forgiving putter designs might be the best choice. Are you closing the putter towards the hole too much? You probably miss a lot of putts to the left (for a right handed golfer) and a face balanced putter could well be the cure.

The right clubs for your game should make the most of your strengths and diminish your weaknesses. It doesn't need to break the bank either. The component market offers some very high quality clubs to choose from. As an added bonus, these component clubs can be custom built to fit your game and that's the best way to play the right clubs.
