Nintendo Wii: Should You Get One
The Wii is the fifth video games console from Nintendo. Wii Play, Wii Fit and Wii Club are currently the most popular games for the Nintendo Wii. The Wii has been selling well since its launch back in the year 2006. It is one of the best selling consoles ever produced.
Nintendo's Wii has Xbox 360 and PlayStation by Sony as its direct competitors. All three of these video games consoles have done well, but Nintendo's video games always have a technical edge over the others. Nintendo's Wii comes from 7th generation of video games and this console is a home console of video games.
Nintendo decided to make a console that would appeal to a wide market: young and old. Up until the Wii, there wasn't a console on the market that pulled in the older generation. Sitting in front of a TV tapping a gamepad didn't appeal to older adults. Yet the Nintendo Wii's style and depth of interactive gameplay has got a lot of older adults interested in video gaming. You don't have to look far to see why, having a console that allows you to enjoy activities such as cricket, tennis, golf, running, exercising, snowboarding, gym work outs and much more. The Wii is a family console that everyone can enjoy. It can also play GameCube games, its backwards compatible.
A feature that makes the Wii unique is its controllers, which are wireless. The main controller is named the Wii Remote, the secondary controller named the Nunchuk. The remotes detect movement in more than two dimensions, making every game totally interactive. You can also purchase the accessory pack, which includes a tennis racket and baseball. WiiConnect24 is another great feature for the Wii. This feature allows you to receive Wii Board Messages from other Wii users. It also keeps the console up to date and all of its applications including its on Local Weather Wii channel.
The Wii is the fifth console produced by Nintendo and it should be noted that it's their best, something the Nintendo Wii's sale figures would line-up with. The console became available in November 2006; to date the console has sold over 56 million units worldwide.
