The proper police duty gear is a policeman's savior

Many pieces of equipment like baton, knives, gloves, holster, gun belt, flashlight, and other body protection armor combine to form the proper police duty gear. While buying duty gear, policemen have to base their choice on the durability of the equipment, as well as the user's comfort, and the professional appearance that the right gear gives. If policemen safeguard others, it is the equipment that they carry that safeguards the policemen all the time. Every policeman's job is a high-risk job because his duty is to reduce risk in the lives of others and neutralize the negative effects as much as possible when something untoward happens. While a policeman helps others all the time, his helper in his hallowed duty is the effective gear and equipment that he has with him all the time.

Routine police duty gear can include several things like flashlights, gun belts, gloves, holsters, helmets, batons, shields, knives, and other body armor equipment. All these may not be part of a policeman's duty gear all the time. Depending upon the law enforcement duty assigned to him, or the seriousness or delicateness of a volatile situation, a policeman may have to use all or some of these components of his duty gear. However, every policeman should ideally have all the pieces of his gear in the best working condition all the time, to let him perform his duties to the best of his ability.

Policemen are trained for various duties, and as such, slightly differing uniforms and slightly different police duty gear may be prescribed for different groups based upon the rule and choice of their agency or authority. Since each individual would be thorough about their group's requirements, they should shop around for the right duty gear that satisfies the group's requirements. A policeman without his full spectrum gear may be like a Samson shorn of his hair.

While buying police duty gear, its durability will remain a prime concern with the buyers. The frequency with which the duty gear is used, and the purposes for which they are used, will have a direct impact on how long the pieces will last. Where a policeman ends up more often in charge of situations where he has to control crime, and be in charge of violent situations, his gear will also be subjected to wear and tear faster. Even leaving a margin for such probabilities that will reduce the life of the gear, the items should last the least minimum for three years and ideally up to five years.

Both leather and nylon are good choices for pieces of duty gear. While ballistic nylon for holsters and other pieces could be a slightly better choice from the durability angle, many choose leather, as it is more comfortable for wearing. Leather police duty gear equipments also give the perfect professional touch to the policeman who wears it.
