What should you expect from your wedding Priest ?

Have you ever heard of a wedding without someone to officiate? Maybe, the person who was scheduled failed to show. Still an authorized person is a must. It may not be a Minister . Sometimes people look to governmental officers like JPs or judges. But somebody must be authorized by the state to officiate over a wedding.

Why do weddings have to be controlled by legal and governmental regulations?

By definition, a event is the official merger of two individuals into legally binding marriage contract. This marriage contract is authorized and controlled by state law. The law affects the custody of assets, obligations, children, and more.

The state defines who may legally officiate a event ceremony. These individuals vary from state to state, but generally include priests, Cleric s, rabbis, Shaman, judges, ship captains, justices of peace, and others.

The Priest serves as a representative of the government as well as his respective organization. He may represent a church, synagogue, or a other religious organization. Or he may represent a civil organization. In all cases, the officiate must also represent the state and be authorized by the state to legally perform a wedding.

Beyond officiating a special days ceremony, most Priest s are also provide additional support and services to the bridal couple. The Preacher may serve as a pre-marriage counselor, a pre- event teacher, a special days ceremony planner, special days organizer, officiate of rehearsal and ceremony, a participant in the reception, and often a marriage counselor following the wedding. Some Minister s require specified things from the bridal couple, while others limit their involvements to those things requested by the couple.

The right event Preacher will share your dreams, hopes, and vision of marriage. While he may encourage you to expand your thinking and deepen your relationships; he can also help you achieve a truly unique personalized ceremony.

You need a good relationship with your wedding Cleric . You will need to process all the details of planning, organization, ceremony design, and the wedding ceremony itself.

Your Minister can advise you and guide you to achieve your dream wedding by designing a wedding ceremony that fits you. Sometimes Cleric s are overly steeped in their tradition that they resist creative vows, but usually the Priest is willing to work with you.

So, what about paying your Cleric ? Do not overlook this important consideration. Find you up front what the Priest charges. Agree together on his fees.

Public officials may have fees set by the city or county government. Some denominations have a set fee structure for their Cleric s. In most cases, however, the Minister sets the fees. Typical protocol dictates that the Best Man pay the Officiate for the Groom.

Fees for performing a event usually run between $200 and $1,000 depending on the size of the wedding, the services rendered, and the overall budget of the wedding.

Always keep in mind that the Cleric is the one person required by law to hold your wedding. You can get by without musicians, caterers, coordinators, even bridesmaids and groomsmen. You cannot have a special days without your Priest . He is essential.
